I'm a bit slow with all this. Was this record he was supposedly working on with Amorphous Androgynous meant to a separate record from 'Chasing Yesterday', or was it meant to be in its place? For the record, CY is probably my favourite record from this year. It was started before NGHFB but not completed until after the NGHFB announcement. Apparently Noel wasn't confident enough in it to release it though. The association with CY is that a couple of the CY song were worked on originally in the AA sessions and apparently Gaz feels that their influence was sufficient that they should have more credit given. I think he wants a songwriting credit? You forgot to mention that Noël's a real motherfuckër! God bless.

Nice! You heard any news about a new album @isness? I really liked The Cartel and thought a whole series of fake soundtracks was meant to be planned?

I was hoping they'd carry on with that, but tbh I don't see it happening anytime soon. I've lost count of the number of albums they've mentioned in interviews or online posts that they've never got round to releasing or taken 15-20 years to release... They released another Archives album (Archived 8) a couple of months back as FSOL, and they've said they're working on the next AA album, which I'm guessing will feature material from these sessions. Also, according to this site ( fsolnews.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/061115-history-of-fsol-kooks-remix.html) they've got a book and an 11 track CD out Monday

Looking forward to hearing the EP as soon as I get home today.
By the way, some guy is claiming in the comments that Johnny Marr should have got a credit for Liam's tunes on Heathen Chemistry. Where does this rumour come from? I would like to think he wasn't involved in writing crap like Better Man. Although if he did, it's easy to see why he wouldn't want to have his name on it.
And honestly, it's about time Gaz stopped talking like a bitter ex-girlfriend.

Before Heathen Chemistry was recorded Liam demoed up to 10 tracks with Johnny Marr and Andy Bell. It was mentioned in Q I think around late 2000 / early 2001. It has been years since I read the magazine though, I can't remember any of the finer details. No details were ever given out about the sessions but we do know that Johnny Marr did play on (Probably) All In The Mind from that album era.

It breaks the heart that Johnny played on one of the worst Oasis songs ever put down in a studio. Pretty sure he also plays on BOADC and Better Man.

But playing on a few tracks and co-writing them are very different things... You would think a guy like Marr would have managed to come up with some better songwriting ideas, but I guess there's only so much you can do with those tunes.

I just downloaded the EP. The track in question is a nice, dancy one. And I'd bet that's Noel playing the awesome bassline.

Pretty sure Gaz is gonna milk this for the next few years.
It's getting past the point of being a guy who might have gotten screwed over, to obnoxious.

I remember reading that Liam had spent some time in the studio with Johnny Marr but I don't think it was co writing. I got the impression the majority of those songs hadn't been used, its strange that no one would have mentioned it?

Pretty sure Gaz is gonna milk this for the next few years. It's getting past the point of being a guy who might have gotten screwed over, to obnoxious. Seriously? Someone asked him about it directly and he responded. He didn't shout and swear just repeated his postion. I thought you liked recording artists that didn't say 'no comment' and occasionally repeated there 'obnoxious' views about other people. I don't really see the difference, except that its Noel Gallagher.

Sometimes I wish he would say no comment, especially in stiff like the esquire interview where he clearly went too far. Most of the time it's great to see a rock star speak honestly, but when it's at nauseum about the same things like Gaz or Noel speaking about rock and music today, then yea, it can be obnoxious. So yea, seriously.

Gaz has posted various statuses without anyone asking for it, to be honest And that Esquire interview doesn't sit right with me as well. It's as if he just said something just for the sake of saying something.
