I don't usually believe Noel. I think he's full of shit half the time...That absolute radio interview, where he had to pick a football team of guitarists....Saying Rossi, Parfitt, Angus Young and a few others were basically shit, but he's qualified to pick them The chap can't even lace their boots But, I do believe him when he says maybe the AA were using him to make an album for themselves. In other words, use Noel to get into their work into the mainstream. It's highly plausible

Would that be a problem? Both sides benefit. AA did alot with the 2 songs we heard, especially with soot a hole into the sun, so they should deserve the same mainstream success and it shouldn't have been a Noel Gallagher album.

I have no proof, but, I'm pretty sure Noël was involved in the witch hunt known as "deflategate". God bless.

As far as we know, it was Beatles records, and not George Martin & the Beatles records. just sayin.

Its no doubt that Noel Gallagher has collaborated with The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers and seems to be into remixes of his songs. So why did he think Amorphous Androgynous album was such a bad idea? This is what they had to say. thequietus.com/articles/17837-amorphous-androgynous-garry-cobain-on-noel-gallagherOne problem with Oasis is they suffered from never being able to take their music in a different direction, remember that Death in Vegas album in 2004? Liam Gallagher did a song with them, and thought they should use them for their next record. I think it was a good idea. But of course..it ended going nowhere...Noel didn't like it. I'd much rather Noel Gallagher did an album of songs more like this than what is doing now.

yes we agree which is why we did 2 great versions of If I Had A Gun .. One of which along with Shoot. A Hole were on our album - thanks . We abstracted IF I HAD A GUN into Shoot A Hole partly out of embarrassment that Noel repeatedly talked to the media saying ' how far out ' the album was- like - DARK SIDE OF THE MOON - so we chose GUN as a candidate to go really out there cos it had the lyric ' I'd shoot a hole into the sun '

Excuse me Avenger, you do realize Oasis's downfall is from Noels sheer lazyness of trying new ways of recording Oasis's music?
Noel is too afraid to be weird, he's kind of used us to pepper his album and give the idea that he's pushed out enough to sell his records - and he's done it for two albums. In fact, two of the songs we wrote while trying to get him... I mean, we were supposed to be producing his first album, we listened to his demos and said: 'People are gonna love these, 'cause people love you as a songwriter.' But from our point of view, you've had hits with the Chemical Brothers, which were great, and [one of] Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble [mix series by Amorphous Androgynous] was his favourite album of all time, the first one, Cosmic Space Music. That got us to remix Oasis - we did a 22-minute remix of Oasis' 'Falling Down'. So we were producing his first solo album [Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds from 2011] - it was never a remix album. It was a big responsibility to get it right, and we spent two years on it.

I don't recall seeing this before. Pretty cool to see them in the studio together - and the immortal effects pedal!

Is it just me? I don't see either of those quote in the Facebook post you linked One was in reply to a comment by Chris Mckeown. I think it's pretty cool that Gaz bothers to reply directly to his fans. He also said this in response to someone questioning The Kooks: "Plus I liked the way (The Kooks) are not resolutely sticking to an indie thing which has obviously brought them Dividends ..., I'm Always up for assisting ' seekers ' plus he's got some funk and soul this boy . The indie boys don't know how to react in current musical pop climate and like the rest of us , they are re-climatizing , it's potentially a good time for the more talented ones cos that Cool Britannia thing rode it's luck & had its day , time to expand ....,,"

I go back on my original post... Noel let certain remixes come out from those sessions....Because, in his own words, he thought they were "brilliant." To me, Shoot a hole into sun is amazing.... The remix of what a life is shite..... It's quite plausible Noel genuinely thought it was shit. That remix of WAL done my head in and I can't listen to it anymore. It was a blotch on that campaign for me. Riverman remix though........Fuck me, that is good now Agree with you on that. Gun remix was brilliant. WAL remix....not so much. I think I might believe Noel's judgement on this.

I think I might believe Noel's judgement on this. this has been said many times before and the difference is that 'Gun remix' was a collaboration essentially a different song and not a remix (which the rest of album would've been) The WAL remix wasn't their version of the song or a collaboration etc it was just purely a remix, which they have openly said they had no interest in the original so why the remix isn't great

I really dislike both. I prefer the Beyond The Wizard Sleeve remixes, they're much more creative and interesting to me.

Shoot a Hole into the Sun is great, What a Life remix has great moments but on the whole doesn't really come together. That violin section about 12 minutes into the Falling Down remix remains the high point of their work with/around Noel for me. Utterly brilliant, like a lot of that remix.

I'm a bit slow with all this. Was this record he was supposedly working on with Amorphous Androgynous meant to a separate record from 'Chasing Yesterday', or was it meant to be in its place? For the record, CY is probably my favourite record from this year.

For the record, CY is probably my favourite record from this year. It was started before NGHFB but not completed until after the NGHFB announcement. Apparently Noel wasn't confident enough in it to release it though. The association with CY is that a couple of the CY song were worked on originally in the AA sessions and apparently Gaz feels that their influence was sufficient that they should have more credit given. I think he wants a songwriting credit?
