I have it on loop as we speak. It sounds like a song for a nighttime drive through the city amid a rain shower.

I bet the demo is just an acoustic version, with maybe some soft drumming.

I bet the demo is just an acoustic version, with maybe some soft drumming. IDK, the album version is so restrained and understated I think (or hope) that maybe the demo will be a crazy, overblown version with 3 kazoo solos and a guest appearance from Bjork or something. Another stripped back/acoustic version would be pretty pointless.

So, after a few listens of the song I have to say that it's pretty EPIC. This, my dear Mr. Sardy, is how you turn a typical NG acoustic song into an awesome ballad. Not what you did with If I Had a Gun, which sounds like a plodding, muddy piece of shit compared to TDOTL. He had a grand plan that went to shit.........................

Sounds like this album pisses all over the Oasis releases since the 2000s and post Oasis releases. If it really is much better than High Flying Birds, it must be sensational - as I love that album.
CANNOT WAIT

What's the instrumentation in this song - what instruments are played, and is it heavy feeling or light and sparse?

What's the instrumentation in this song - what instruments are played, and is it heavy feeling or light and sparse? Piano, subtle electric riffs, and really good drumming. REALLY GOOD DRUMS. It sounds like your driving at night through a rain soaked city filled with neon lights. It sounds nothing like IIHAG or Wonderwall, which I expected.

I think I'm the only one who wanted it to be acoustic with strings and a choir lol. I still like this version, it's darker.

I feared it would have an EOTR style choir. Thank God it doesn't.
