Actually it says that only one instant grat will qualify That being said. Didnt the people that preordered the album get access to ITHOTM? If they did then TBOTMI single obtained in this manner wouldn't count. If they didn't then those single would.

If they did then TBOTMI single obtained in this manner wouldn't count. If they didn't then those single would. If so he will be lucky if BOTMI will chart in the top 50. They clearly don't give a shit about singles, they just want people to pre-order the deluxe version of the album. That's their strategy, but it's not new though. We're talking about this since october Anyway, this strategy is working, so they're doing a good job: Chasing Yesterday iTunes History22 days in the top 100 so far Highest position: #18 (14 october), #24 (13 & 14 jan). Average position in those days: #61 Chasing Yesterday Amazon UK History
Chasing Yesterday Deluxe: 13 days in the top 100 Chasing Yesterday Vinyl: 45 days in the top 100 Spotify BOTMI: 59.000 streams. Not good Youtube: 670.000

lambo your commitment to chart tracking is astounding. Well, it's nothing special. You just need to go to itunescharts.net. Everything is there

'fraid not..I really dont like this song..at all! Ok fair enough if YOU don't like the song. But to say a Noel Gallagher song won't chart is brain dead.

Could be better, but it's a decent place to start.

D'you think it'll chart again when it's officially released? Yeah maybe, if it's promoted a bit, which I think if might, as it's so close to the album release date. Don't think that if it will, it will chart high though.

Its charted because of the instant grat People who choose to DL the track from their pre order. Obviously it'll re chart on general release when the 2 vinyls ship etc Guess the nearest equivalent Gallagher wise will be FD as that was instant grat it charted at 125 (obv no streaming data like now) and then charted at number 10.

This reminds me a lot of the IIHAG release. Good song only made it to #95.
The lack of promotion is startling. At some point, you have to promote an album that's only six weeks from being released. I still think the album will go #1 and Noel's people know what they're doing, but singles are useless if they're just dropping out of the charts and barely peaking. The presales could be a lot higher if with this single they had pushed a bit more. Then at least you get 2-3 weeks of a presale rather than one.
I'm just wondering when they'll actually promote this. We thought it'd be now, but it seems time is slipping away fairly quickly. Still, hope they have big stuff planned.

It's nice that you guys are discussing this, however... Does it really matter? I doubt Noel cares as much as some of you guys - haha. If I hadn't of read the thread title I wouldn't have even considered the matter. The charts nowadays seem to be so full of rubbish that I couldn't care less what how much of the general public listens to Noel's songs. Frankly the 'general publics' taste in 'good' music is so shocking that I'm not at all surprised to see it's all manufactured. Everyone knows what they like... so if people like Noel wanted chart success he'd deliberately write for it (like 90% of pop artist writers do)... and it'd be shit. However I bet it'd do twice as well as anything he's going to release. Noel pretty much summed it up with: "If you're Number One in the charts now, it automatically means you must be shit. Bands now go cap-in-hand to the industry and the industry has already decided what it wants for the fucking chart stars. But the charts are all the fucking same. Every single song in the Top 10 is the same shit with a different voice."Of course, this isn't the case with every single song, but a painfully high percentage. Chart success is pretty much meaningless to any respectable band/duo or individual loosely fitting the 'rock' genre. It's all about the critical acclaim, baby

Too long in my opinion.

Yeah it's ridiculous. I mean, when a new single is on the radio you just know it will do well. It's all so predictable.

Obv they are going to push it in the last 2-3 weeks. the actual release date for the single is 23 feb so theyll be some push 1-2 prior for that As we've all spotted that Riverman going to come pre release and all dates also point to 23 Feb for that (which ill bet anything will be another pre order early DL track which Noel seemingly saying a stunner of a track) Id say some time that week we'll get it streaming on spotify and other places. They got it all in hand been a long burn of build up over the last 2-3 months that'll explode at the right time like it should
