I too am a fan of Frank, I think Watertown is a lost classic. Are you a fan of any bands that are outside the rock or great songbook genre? I love classical .... My uncle is / was Arturo Toscanini U may have heard of him ....... I love big band era, jazz , do wop , pretty much all music man

Also 300k views on youtube It's fantastic for this early in the game. I'm really surprised at that. I think it's well deserved too. It soon pass Do The Damage with views, hopefully Noisey gives it another exposure a la IHOTM

Kalas it is obvious you have a narrow pallet when it comes to music. I take it the likes of Eno, Four Tet, Boards of Canada, and the like have never touched your eardrums, and you are worse off because of that. I'm not sure what you are expecting, but it is obvious this isn't it. A lot of people sold Noel short for a lot of years as a guy who apes the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Stones, and forget at his artistic and commercial peak, he was working with the Chemical Brothers and praising DJ Shadow. It is nice to see these influences come to the forefront finally. probably the best post you have had on here I like the song melons

This was always gonna be the true single release for the album..this is a great track and the haters can hate and those hoping for another shakermaker will never get it..noels music as evolved and if you think tracks like aint got nothing and nature of reality are better than this then youve got the oasis blinkers on..tracks like that are the reason oasis are no more..noel was having to leave songs off for average crap like that. This is some of his best stuff in years..and people saying hes trying to stay with the crowd???fuck off will you ...god help when liam releases a record

I'm not interested in charts/record sale, but deal it even if you disagree with others without insulting them. You're not the only one on this world.

Any chance all the fighting could be moved to the play pen? mimmihopps evaI guess they don't care about the single charts. They must be trying to convert the sales to album sales right off the bat I guess to ensure that he gets a good first week of sales for the album. I guess it makes some sense. I'm happy enough with it. We can get the single digitally so we can have it right away if we want to. Sure our vinyls will come in a month in the mail, if you are in to that kind of thing...but that is fine with me. Noel is a top 20 kind of artist but bigger on the album chart than the single chart by far. And a massive #1 album would presumably be better than a moderate selling #15 single. And this way it gets played on radio for a few weeks. Then charts, probably top 40, right before the album and gets played a bit more again when it should be dropping off. wonder if he won't bother promoting it much until the week before it's release though. It'll probably be a few weeks yet before the big push comes. I wouldn't anticipate that this album will do quite as well as HFB. That album was a little goer. Plus it was out and a popular purchase for the Christmas season. He did massive sales in the 6 weeks leading up to Christmas. He was @ like #20 with sales of 40k or something. Not gonna happen like that at this time of year. It'll have to stay higher on the charts a lot longer to get the same kind of sales.

BOTMI is doing well on itunes because on itunes anyone that preorders the album is also getting BOTMI now and that counts for the itunes singles chart. Those sales do not count for the official charts though (the only sales that count will be the sales from people buying BOTMI on its own, not as part of the album preorder).
So don't expect to see it charting anywhere near as high as it is on itunes.

If someone preorders the album in order to buy the single then it will not count toward the singles chart. It will only count toward the album chart. For it to be a single sale a single literally has to be bought. It's actual iTunes ranking may only be #15 or something along those lines.

I just bought it on iTunes and I haven't preordered it on iTunes. I'm not getting a digital copy.
But that being said I am in Canada. They must have it set up differently in the UK?

No that's not right you pre order the album but you don't pay for it until 2 March when the album comes out. You do however pay 99p for BOTMI and it discounts 99p of the album price so Id guess it will count as a single sale

jesus how hard is it to understand. you can download it now for 99p without pre-ordering it. if you have pre-ordered the album you have already paid for it so you can download it instantly. if you pre-order the album between now and release you will get both singles and the b-sides instantly.

No that's not right. You don't pay in advance on iTunes you pay when you download the album. I preordered the album 2 months ago and then 'instantly' downloaded BOTMI today and got charged 99p for the single Attachments:
