I always talk like I was there too, but I could be 50 or I could be 12, for all you know By the way, I'm absolutely not embarrassed about this song. What's embarrassing about this? The only reason why I will not show it to my friends is because they're not into this kind of music. Their tastes in music are for almost all my friends vastly different from mine.

Honestly ? I wanted a tune that I could play in my car , or play to my nephew and not be ashamed to crank it .....sadly I can't say that for this trash is that asking too much man you NAILED it big time, man. that is IT. it's not a song I would play to my friends. not even the lady. I was pleased to make em listen to The Death Of You & Me. truly great songwriting, good playing. TIMELESS song. now it's just mmm.. yeah I like it, but why do I like it? Noel's songwriting and signing. If you like it why wouldn't you play it for them?. Are you embarrassed?

I enjoy it anyway. not many artists that I enjoyed following their journey for so many years, but Noel is still #1 to me. this shows how bad music is since a couple of years. BLAND as fuck

Ok, what did you want, or expect for that matter? Heavy guitar riffs and punk rock? Honestly ? I wanted a tune that I could play in my car , or play to my nephew and not be ashamed to crank it .....sadly I can't say that for this trash is that asking too much man Sorta, yeah. Noel doesn't cater for individuals, why should he? He does it for himself. If Noel wants to release song not in the 'turn it up loud' vain, then so be it. The chances were, that was always going to be the case. Perhaps 'Lock All The Doors' should be the track for you to look out for. It's the one I'm most looking forward to. Apparently he's nicked some 'Buzzcocks' guitar stuff and it contains the 1993 chorus to either 'Coming On Strong' or 'Lock All The Doors'. Sounds good to me.

I absolutely LOVE this song, and if people have a problem with that, then you know where you can go.
It doesn't rely on his traditional influences which have been worn thin to the point of tedium, if any of you are demanding that, you've got 20 years worth of material to check out again.
But as a fan of Echo & The Bunnymen, in addition to electronic acts of which has influenced Noel (Chemical Bros, Massive Attack, etc) , I think an amalgamation of these acts is present in the song and thus it's perfect for me, especially as I wanted something fresh sounding. Noel mentioned the Bunnymen, and I can definitely detect that dark melancholy which characterises that band.
So for me, I know I'm not deluded in loving this tune, despite what others may think.

The song is bad ......and by the time the next LP comes you will all be posting about how you hope it is better ...than this ...,sorry but it's a fact .....the song will have no legs Thanks for talking for us. I disagree. It's not a fact. How do you know all the songs don't have legs? Have you heard it? I rate all 3 tracks very highly. Of course people will be hoping for better. People would think that about any album. Look at WTSMG to Be Here Now

So for me, I know I'm not deluded in loving this tune, despite what others may think. Same for me. I'm perfectly capable of deciding what I like and dislike. I didn't love ITHOTM and I sorta liked DTD but could see it was a B-side. I love this song though. It's very different from most of HFB 1, which is a good thing (and I love HFB1)

For fuck's sake... this is getting VERY annoying. You don't like the track? I'm fine with that... just stop pretending that your opinion is the universal truth. There are people on here that actually like it, as matt brilliantly explained.

The song is embarrassing for some? This is the most hilarious thing I've heard. No wonder Noel has been accused of being a luddite by the press, given he has been propped up by a fan base that are largely unambitious with their music choices.

I also couldn't care less what genre it is. If it's a good song and I like it then it means it's a good song and I like it.

Are you embarrassed? hey man, already answered this, just the post after yours but I'll just add it's not that I hate it, it's just that I don't LOVE it. I just wont be bragging about it at the bar, thats it. it's a first to me with Oasis. I won't come in, ARMS IN THE AIR saying 'you heard Noel's new single?!!' it happened with DOYAM. happened with Flick Of The Finger. happened with every Oasis albums. not this one.

You clamour now about the single ......then get upset when a die hard like me questions it , because it really does suck ..... but I guarantee you ......when the next LP noel has drops ....every one of you will be posting it is better than this crap .......sorry to be mean ...but it is sad ..,,BUT TRUE Don't try to elevate yourself above others. The fact we've all signed up to an Oasis forum suggests we're all pretty big fans.
If you think that fine... but can we stop with the 'my view is THE view' rubbish. Once again more 'I'm in the right' rubbish. It's not sad nor true. You don't half talk out your arse sometimes Kalas.

Quite possibly your worst post ever .....yes it's embarassing, as a fan of OASIS ....ITS TRAGIC MATE And noel wrote the book on Un ambitious geezer Ironic, because I thought Oasis became tragic. Dig Out Your Soul - largely a pseudo- Beatles rip off personally, that couldn't be more embarrassing personally.

Kalas it is obvious you have a narrow pallet when it comes to music. I take it the likes of Eno, Four Tet, Boards of Canada, and the like have never touched your eardrums, and you are worse off because of that. I'm not sure what you are expecting, but it is obvious this isn't it.
A lot of people sold Noel short for a lot of years as a guy who apes the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Stones, and forget at his artistic and commercial peak, he was working with the Chemical Brothers and praising DJ Shadow. It is nice to see these influences come to the forefront finally.

People would think that about any album. Look at WTSMG to Be Here Now Huh ?? I will be sure to resurrect this post when Noe puts out his next , and you all say its better than this ......let's look at Wtsmg and BHN ....your comparing these tunes to that ? Are you on actual LSD ? What I'm saying is that even if Noel were to put an amazing album out (like WTSMG) people will always be expecting/hoping/wanting more. The huge expectations have previously been seen on albums such as 'Be Here Now'. Basically, no matter how good an album Noel puts out, people are always going to hope for even more next time. Therefore your point is pointless. Hope that clears up what I meant.

Yeah I'm not sure what people actually want. When he makes rock it's "generic and dadrock" and then he is "a Beatles and Kinks ripoff", people think it all sounds the same or it's too safe, and now he's using more dancey elements and moving away from his standard sound a bit but no, that's not good either.
Some people are impossible to please.

Also, I'll be playing this for my mates when we do pre-drinks (UK Lads will know) next week, nothing embarrassing about it at all, it's a good tune
