Anybody listened to the new Beach House album yet? I have. It was released so soon after Depression Cherry that I assumed it would be second-rate, and now I feel stupid because it’s great, just like everything else they’ve done.

Anybody listened to the new Beach House album yet? (Not Depression Cherry, but the another one) Oh yeah. Good lord they are just so great. I can't think of a band who just know who they are and they continually write great songs. Like supersonic1983 said its very good. A bit different than Depression Cherry (which I still haven't completely digested yet). It definitely goes back to the haunting allure of their first two albums. Its not as lush or as spectacular at the past three. It's just a haunting gorgeous listen. I was lucky enough to see them debut Majorette on tour. She's So Lovely is like a long lost cousin of Gila, probably my favorite song on the album. Elegy To The Void is the loudest songs they've ever sounded and ranks up their as one of their quintessential songs. Victoria gives perhaps her best vocal performance ever on the ballroom dance of "Somewhere Tonight". Its really good, might like more than DC as an album. So glad we got 19 new songs from them this year with the two albums. Perhaps the best thing about Beach House is that their album's only get better with time. I look forward to playing these this winter.

Found a brand new Neil Young live release in my record shop today - a nice surprise!
This is the latest from the performance archives series. Neil Young and the Bluenotes live 1988, double disc of performances from that tour, including 9 'new' songs and a mega 19 min version of Tonight's the Night. Very excited to listen.

Still waiting patiently for the new Radiohead. An album like that could literally drop at any time out of the blue.

I didn't realize Uncle Neil had another bootleg album out. Sweet. I'm still waiting for his next Archive Volume 2 box set. Should cover early 70s to late 70s. Loads of great material locked away. Let it out Neil. You are 70!!!!!!!!!! Dylan does a great job with his bootleg series. I wish Neil would pickup the pace.

Adrenalin Baby (physical release on 13th November) Brilliant live album this, seen Johnny about 6 or 7 times since he went solo and each time has been brilliant, some of the live covers he has been doing sound fantastic as well and this release does them covers full justice, with quality guitarists like this I do prefer the live stuff over the studio releases.

It's great that it includes "Getting Away With It". That's a coolness of this guy. I was nearly going mental when I heard the intro of "Headmaster Ritual" when I saw him last year. Good to see you posting on here again, Sir.

Loved Getting Away With It, also love New Town Velocity live as well. shame they didn't include Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want as that was a surprise when he played that when I saw him. Always been lurking on here, always found it too big of a forum for me this place but i'll give it a go.

One Direction are the greatest boy band ever (Weird to say but I believe it.) Their new album Made in the AM is great pop music, and they've been making good music since Midnight Memories. Btw if you listen to Hey Angel off their new album it totally sounds like Listen Up by Oasis

That's a great news too. Loved their first album and loved to see them in Paradiso back in 2008. They played The Beatles "She's So Heavy". It was the first time when I saw Miles Kane and I was impressed by him. His following solo gig supporting Beady Eye in 2011 blowed me away. Sadly what he has done with his second album was nothing to compare.

This really isn't much more than speculation, but word is that Alex Turner and Miles Kane are giving The Last Shadow Puppets their second lease of life this year. A fan of the band met their producer/drummer James Ford at Primavera Sound in Barcelona a couple of days ago and was apparently told that this year will bring a new LSP album. The guy seems pretty legit too, he's met AM on a couple of occasions as well as Miles and various other big names in music. Alex and Miles have been photographed together a fair bit recently, and when rumours emerged of Alex and James Ford being seen around a studio last month, some jumped to a conclusion that they'd record the Bond theme but, if the sighting did indeed occur, could well have been something else. I was a big fan of the debut, the songs would be great in their own right but the cinematic production and labyrinthine verses showed a new dimension to what Alex was capable of producing. Nothing confirmed, but fingers very much crossed. Called it.

I'm looking forward to Snow Patrols next album. I know they are currently recording. So probably no album until next year. Hopefully early next year though.

Anybody heard the new Deerhunter album yet? Loving "Living My Life". I'm really enjoying it. I kinda have an on/off again relationship with Deerhunter, some of there stuff I adore and other stuff it just doesn't hit me. Cox is wonderful artist though. As I said I totally dig Fading Frontier - it is a bit more accessible than their other stuff. Its kinda sedated and dreamy but not overly experimental. Living My Life is beautiful, love that break in the middle and the subsequent outro. One of my favorites for sure. All the Same sounds like Real Estate and Take Care clicks and glimmers like a Beach House song. Snakeskin has a sexy groove and I'd love to see Radiohead dabble in something similar. Breaker and Duplex Planet are lovely little nuggets of dream pop as well. Album sounds great on headphones and quality monitors. If people didn't like Deerhunter before or wrote them off, I'd definitely give this album a try. There's a lot to like - great songwriting and crafty production.

I wasn't interested in Deerhunter much before to be honest, but Living My Life caught my ears. There's something similar to Beach House in their music. I'm gonna listen to Fading Frontier and want to get into deep in their music to know them better. Thanks Cast.

Can't wait for The Last Shadow Puppets. Acoustic and more intimate Alex Turner is my fav Alex Turner. And, imho, his voice now is much better for a type of album like that.
