Death Grips dropping a bunch of links to a band mysterious unheard band called The I.L.Y.s which is very heavily speculated to be a Zach Hill/Flatlander side project. It's not something I had been "looking forward towards" as Death Grips is a 'drop it outta nowhere' kind of band, however anything Death Grips or Death Grips related is something I'll always keep an eye out for. Sounds decent to me so far - a more straightforward, less intense, rock orientated sound, but the songs are still there. As always, the band have uploaded all the tracks to Youtube and released the music for free. Frickin' respect.

I'm quite impressed by Of Monsters And Men's new album. It's gloomier and more contemplative than their first, but they haven't lost their knack for writing a hook.

Bee listening to Gengahr and their debut A Dream Outside and it's a really nice pop album. I really like it. It's not groundbreaking or anything but a nice summer album, I think.

It's a strange one for me as when I first listened to it I wasn't that impressed but there's not really anything bad on it, just nothing that stands out. It's a decent enough album but nothing special.

Personal taste, I suppose, but if we're talking about highlights I must say I think Black Water is a tremendous song.

Yeah I like the song, it just doesn't strike me as anything better than quite good at the moment. It just sort of feels like the album is full of decent songs without any great ones like Lakehouse or Dirty Paws which made the first album that bit better for me. I'll give the album some time to grow though because as I said I don't dislike the songs on it.

I definitely rolled my eyes when piddyfork gave Jamie xx's new album In Colour a 9.3 or whatever, but I've had a chance to listen to it this weekend and its actually really really good. In fact I'd say it's great album probably will make the top 10-15 at the end of year. Hi's album with Gil Scott Heron was solid, but with this one he has taken it up another level. This might be better than The xx's debut, which was incredibly influential.
It is definitely a headphones album, but it isn't your typical sushi restaurant cosmopolitan electronic music. Whole thing has a really great flow to it, a perfect night time driving soundtrack album.
Gosh, Sleep Sound, Seesaw, Loud Places are four of my favorite songs that I've heard this spring. A lot of electronic music is either too bloated or predictable (mainstream EDM these days), or too boring and rely on stoners to feel the (lazy) atmospheric vibes, but Jamie XX's has a really nice subtle touch to his arrangements, he turns these jams into songs. A lot of different colors on this one as well, ever shifting.

It's certainly one that took me by surprise as it wasn't really an album I was looking forward to before it's release and I didn't go into it with much expectation as I'm not massive on The XX, although I have went back to their albums since listening to Jamie's and I like them more than I thought I did, but I really like Jamie XX's album. As you say, a lot of it is subtle and it feels quite introverted at times. I've read 5 or 6 reviews of the album now and it seems like it's been getting great reviews across the board.

I finally managed to listen to the Slaves record I bought but I I couldn't play because I didn't have the time (I'm goingto do the same with Brandon Flowers and The Vaccines now),my opinion on it is really positive, might be one of the records of the year I just discovered them like 3 weeks ago,but I absolutely loved Cheer Up London so I decided to buy the album,so proper tunes on it: Cheer Up London,The Hunter,Live Like An Animal,Niety Nine and Sugar Coated Bitter Truth are the best in my opinion Good to see they're getting some support and airplay from Radio 1,they're a new band and truly deserve it
Then I listened to Muse's Drones and to be honest I think it's a bit shit,Dead Inside and Mercy are nice catchy tunes but that's it,Pshyco has got a great riff but doesn't really go anywhere The Globalist,Aftermath and Drones are way too pretentious,Revolt is ridiculously shit The middle section of the album is great tho,Defector is pretty good and The Handler and Reapers (my fave) are amazing

Now,The Vaccines...they're hardly a world-changing band, but their debut was fantastic and a breath of frash air for Indie Music,Come of Age was also pretty good, but this one...
Dream Lover is a tune,Handsome,20/20 and Give Me A Sign are really good,Miracle is listenable, the rest is easily forgettable They're trying to stay relevant with some poppier tunes and some kind of dancey influences, but the songs are not there sadly Minimal Affection is ridiculous

It might not be a new The xx album but this fucking shines brightly. That's a top 3 song of the year for me. Superb track. And this new Jamie xx album will probably be a top 10-15 for the year. It is just as good if not better than The xx's debut. The xx's second album was one of the most boring albums in recent memory but this one has a lot of life to it.

Jesus this song is intense, I feel anxious every time I hear it, and it also has a very good video. I am really excited for this album now, Holy Fire is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years. It's THAT good

That Foals song is brilliant. I don't know them, but It's a bit of a change of the sound. They used to play indie pop, don't they?

Wouldn't say indie pop but they're not normally that heavy and direct. The older stuff had a slight math rock feel to it but they've moved away from that a bit now. Check out Providence and Inhaler from the last album as they're similar.
