That Foals song is brilliant. I don't know them, but It's a bit of a change of the sound. They used to play indie pop, don't they? Wouldn't say indie pop but they're not normally that heavy and direct. The older stuff had a slight math rock feel to it but they've moved away from that a bit now. Check out Providence and Inhaler from the last album as they're similar. Yeh, Inhaler was the only song I knew before today. Tune.

Apparently Jean-Michel Jarre, one of the fathers of electronic music, is going to release an album later this year. Oxygene and Equinoxe are true masterpieces of electronica and you should really check them out if you've never heard them. Anyway, he's got a new song out (a collaboration with M83, a very interesting band imho) but I don't think it's that good...

Any of you guys have ever listened a French band called "The Psychotic Monks"? Their sound is heavy, reminds me BRMC, QOTSA (from the beginning) and another band with this style.
This year they released an EP called "Faces To". Here is the opening track, Leave It Alone

Don't think he's announced an album yet but the new Beck song's a banger. I really like that one. 3FM made it "Megahit" the past week, which means it was played at every show, so every few hours, which is great since the only Beck song you ever hear is Loser.

Now I'm excited for the 2nd album from Gary Clark Jr. He played a lot of new songs at Bonnaroo this year, and recently said the album is next to be done.

I'm really looking forward to the new Libertines album. I pre-ordered myself one of the deluxe box-sets before they sold out.

Foals new single Mountain at My Gates is great, although not as good as What Went Down. The intro sounds like Reckoner by Radiohead but that's hardly a bad thing. I think this single will do quite well, it's fairly similar to My Number but much better. This should be the album that moves them up to arenas and headlining festivals.

Animal Collective have finished their new album. Here's hoping it's more straight forward like Post Pavilion was.

Love Beach House's new album. Beautiful music. Indeed. A nice subtle touch on this album. Most Cocteau Twins-esque album of their's at least I think so. This one unfolds beautifully, if you give it some time. Levitation is one of the best songs of the year in my opinion. That second half is mesmerizing. Pretty safe to say that they've been my favorite band since the release of Devotion back in 08.
