Taken the images down as I don't want to get the forum in trouble. The people from Q NME etc regularly send me various parts of interviews to post. yeah parts, even large, quoted and linked and all, you'll be fine. That drives traffic to their website so it's ok. Don't desapir paranoia is everywhere

I'm like Noel, to (sort of) quote him "I'd rather listen to I am the Walrus 50 times in a row than listen to some obscure B side or unreleased track, who cares" But ever since it was leaked I've listened to Lock All The Doors absolutely loads. My huge, expensive surround sound system compensates for the poor quality and I absolutely fucking love that chorus melody, now part of it is Liam's voice, but it's a great tune. I can see how Noel's turned it into energetic pop/punk, I can't wait to hear this song fully realised! The amount of times I find myself humming or quietly singing that chorus to myself is insane Catchy is an understatement!

Very much so. However, young fool. That is of no concern to me. You will however pay the price for your lack of beard!
That cat I photo'd must be only like 14 at the most and his beard is mighty already, bow before Darth Catbeard!

(I know this gets OT but feck it...arse! guuurls!) I'm actually a dead ringer for Mark Hamill (In ANH) which I've always found amusing. On a scale from 1-10 how excited is everyone for the new Star Wars? I, personally have been waiting for a sequal to ROTJ all my life so I'm like 100000000/10 excited for it, I think I might have a heart attack on the way to the cinema on release day The only thing I'm more fanatical about than star wars is oasis

Just listening to T.rex. Havent for a long time and... is noel trying to make an album that sounds like Tanx ? Do the damage sounds close to 20th Century Boy, there's a sax, female back vox, semi agressive guitars...etc
If that's the kinda disco vibe he's going for it should be something pretty interesting.

Apparently the song goes well with Amaretto. (According to the same ITV sports producer who heard In the Heat of the Moment before we did)

This should mean that the promo CD is already around. This Martyn Reardon guy wrote on Twitter that he received ITHOTM on Oct 3, i.e. 10 days before we heard the tune. If he received Mighty I today we may hear the song on Jan 5/6, which is an easy bet since the single is supposedly out on the 13th...

I live very near to the town where it's made. Went to high school there. It's a nice liquor, very sweet, and it's good also for making cakes

Yuck, amaretto. Not a fan of liquor like Amaretto, Liquor 43, Baileys and all. Guess I'll have to pick another alcoholic drink when I'll be listening to it for the first time

I have just listened to the soundcheck bootleg of 'The Dying of the Light' on proper headphones. For the first time ever really paying attention to the details, strangely. The melody and the way the melody builts up to the chorus is brilliant in my opinion to say the least. It might seem obvious at first listen until it really hits you. Typical Noel G, showing his inimitable, inherent songwriting style.
However, I still do differ between the tunes he wrote before and after 1997, because there's a definite change to notice in how his songs are constructed and how he approached the composing, in my opinion at least. But this song's somehow manages to merge and combine them. Just imagine the song with Liam vocals, circa April 1994.
As a non-native speaker I probably also perceive the lyrics a bit differently from the majority of the english/american-born forum members. Not that I'm dumber (then again, who knows), but again they're universal and applicable to everyone's life and that's what I do enjoy them as well.
EDIT: How did that smiley end up there? I don't know, honestly.

Some very interesting info from this week's NME:
Riverman: it features a Pink Floyd-like guitar solo and a saxophone player "summoned from a smoky room in 1963, and is fucking amazing. It’s my favourite track on the album, and one of my favourites I’ve ever done."
The Right Stuff: it's got sax in it too. Comes from the AA album ("that will never see the light of day") but has been recut to fit CY: "The one on this record is vastly different from the first one, which had a lot of noodling and fucking about. It’s become quite psychedelic, jazz, fucking whatever you wanna call it.”
The Mexican: comes from the AA album too. "The riffs and the cowbell are a bit Queens Of The Stone Age, perhaps? I thought The Rolling Stones, and Johnny Marr when he heard it said, ‘That’s fucking T Rex.’ But if it’s a cross between T Rex, The Rolling Stones and Queens Of The Stone Age, fucking hell, I’ll take that any day. That track comes after a run of quite intense and emotional and... not dark but navy-blue songs, and I needed something to lighten the mood. It’s not the greatest thing I’ve ever written but it is gonna fucking smash the arse out of every live gig.” NME says it's got interesting lyrics, mentioning a revolution.
Lock All The Doors: reminds a bit of Morning Glory (the song)
You Know We Can't Go Back: "It’s about a boy and a girl preparing to run away from the situation they’re in, and one of them turning to the other and saying, ‘We’re going, this is it, we can’t go back.’ It’s actually genius." He decided to change the word "brother" with "lover" in a line to avoid silly questions about him and Liam. The line is now "take me to my lover’s arms".
