I think Noel has mentioned a few times that he's hung out with Chris, Gem, Andy and Liam, hasn't he? I'll make no assumptions, but I'm pretty sure he's mentioned them a few times in his most recent interviews.
This thought has been on my mind for quite some time now just wondering about it, and one I am hoping we can probably sort out on this thread.
So enlighten me: are they, or are they not speaking terms?
If they simply are, then I guess this thread is rendered useless.

He's says they are on speaking turns.
Doubt Liam and he are talking much though. Living very different lives right now. Noel married, raising 2 little boys and busy preparing to release an album presumably in the time that he isn't busy with the family.
Liam's got a new younger girlfriend, presumably doesn't have primary custody of any of his kids and is taking a break from music.
Current lives don't have much in common

He must be on speaking terms with Liam, they are brothers after all. They fell out over music, but they definitely still love each other. I can't imagine not speaking to one of my brothers for 5 years.

I think this is a misconception. He said he hung out with 'a few' of beady eye. Didn't mention Liam. Then on Jonathan Ross he states that everything is cool with Liam and him because they don't talk so theres nothing not to be cool about.

I think he hung out with Gem and maybe Chris. Maaaaaybe Andy, but I doubt that too, since I think they're not that fond of each other either.

I think he's definitely in good terms with Gem. Maybe even with Chris. I don't think with Andy, according to some comments they made.
"Bollocks! He lied about a lot of things. The argument about Pretty Green was lies, what he said about V Festival and the fake laryngitis was lies - I don't know, maybe he's convinced that's the truth. I don't know what goes on in his head. I know him, so I'm not disappointed. That's what he's like. I know how he spins the press. He's used the press for years. Interviews and press are secondary for us, that's his life.
That's just Noel being Noel. All that shit. There were three of us in that room, and I'm telling you it was nothing to do with Pretty Green. I'm not going to add more fuel to the fire. But I've ended up in a band with Liam, Gem, Chris, with the same management, road crew. But at the same time, I wish him all the best. I want him to be happy." Andy Bell

Noel said on a radio show a couple weeks back "Me and rkid are on good terms" So i think that insinuates that they speak/have spoken

He only actually fell out with Liam and to a lesser extent Andy. He said at that first press conference that he was fine with Chris and he was still good mates with Gem - obviously Gem has played with him since and has mentioned a few times since that they've been out together and still text each other.
Andy has said as well that they're fine and have met up since, I'm sure it was around the time BE was released and he was during the promotion.
Noel said the other week that he and Liam aren't speaking so I just presumed when he said he'd been out with Beady Eye that he meant Gem, Andy and Chris not Liam

I'm just glad Noel has held back and hasn't ripped into Liam or Beady Eye too much. He certainly has had the opportunities. Liam seemed to rip Noel whenever he could. Glad it was mostly one way.

Remember in Noel's statement after the split he said he had no support from his bandmates. That was awkward.

I had the hardest time recollecting where this came up from. And now I remember! I could have YouTube'd it, but I didn't remember. That should go on banners everywhere: "There's nothing not to be cool about." (for the next time somebody brings this up again).

I was like "Ehh?!" when I heard or read it. Anyway, he hasn't said many bad things about Beady Eye and not much bad about Liam either. The only things I can remember is him referring to Liam and Andy as "the other two" and that's not that bad. "First time Liam got arrested" is just a joke, and it did happen a few times so yeah, don't really know what to say about that. Liam (and Andy to a lesser extent as well) on the other hand, has insulted Noel numerous times. Not only in interviews and songs (Don't Brother Me) but also on Twitter. And that's pretty childish. Noel isn't entirely clean either though. Anyway they're brothers. I'm sure they've insulted each other a million times throughout their lives. To do it in the media is a bit childish, but otherwise it's no big deal and I couldn't care less.

I wouldn't say it was all one way to be fair. Other than the odd tweet they can only really comment when asked in interviews promoting albums/Pretty Green, and what exactly can you say in 140 characters other than the puerile 'High Flying Smurfs?' Noel fired the first shots with that statement knowing Liam would have to wait to respond. Liam well and truly let rip when he was asked about it months and months down the line. The next time Noel was in the press was the High Flying Birds press conference when he gave a bit of a damning response when asked about Beady Eye - iirc he sarcastically said they were 'alright' and that he didn't want to criticise them out of respect for Gem, but that they lacked good songs and that DGSS was mainly songs he'd rejected for Oasis because of the lyrics.
I think the way they both handled it was exactly in line with their personalities. Liam's comments were always irrational and ranged from 'he's a vagina' to 'I still love him' depending on what day it was, and often in the same interview. It was obviously eating away at him as he'd go off on a tangent when asked, and quite a few of the interviewers who'd spoken to him said how his management had told him Oasis/Noel questions were strictly off limits but that he'd answered them from the heart anyway. In contrast, Noel was more cutting and calculated - he didn't speak about Liam a lot, but his Beady Eye comments would have hurt Liam a lot more than anything he said about Noel. Noel only really commented when he had an audience and would get maximum publicity - the statement, the press conference, etc - whereas Liam ranted at every opportunity to anyone who'd listen.
Neither can take the moral high ground imo, both as bad as each other

Noel never said they "lacked good song" from my recollection.
He did say they needed a big single. Which they didn't have on either album. That's an objective fact.
Presumably Noel knows Liam better than anyone and knew if the fortunes of the band didn't improve Liam would be out of there. Which is what happened. Much to the dismay of the delusional on here who thought Liam didn't care about sales or money. lol.
And fact is BDI were just "alright." Particularly at the time. The only way that Noel could have dodged some people saying he wasn't giving BDI their due was by saying they were amazing in every way...which was a lie.
He did mention in that press conference that BDI got better reviews than any Oasis album for the past decade which conveniently gets forgotten by those that accuse Noel of being nothing but disparaging about BDI at the press conference.
He didn't have to say that but he did.
Fact is that if Noel agreed to discuss their music at some point he would say something critical about some song or another and it would be blown out of proportion. There was more than enough to criticize on DGSS. BDI should be thanking Noel for taking a hard line about answering questions about their music.

Yeah it doesn't really matter what he said. Everyone was waiting for Noel to slag Beady Eye off, people want sensation. If he'd say anything related to Beady Eye it would he exaggerated and/or twisted around so it would definitely come across as negative.

For the most part he held back. A good thing in my opinion.

You can watch nearly any noel interview with noel post 90's and he digs at liam.
