My point is Noel could have really ripped into Beady Eye/Liam over the last 3-4 years like Liam did to him. For the most part he held back. A good thing in my opinion. Not that it ended up changing the future of BDI unfortunately. i love back to the future, donnie darko and other mind bending time paradox's but can you explain how noel not doing something negative ended up not changing the future of bdi??

A good thing in my opinion. so you point wasn't that it was mainly one way from liam, sorry i must have misread that. You can watch nearly any noel interview with noel post 90's and he digs at liam. I'm not referring to the Oasis years, just 2011 to 2014. Liam has been more vocal on his hate for HFB and Noel.

She means that even if he would have said anything positive about Beady Eye, they wouldn't have lasted longer. Whatever he would have said, it wouldn't have any influence on how their career went. Sorry I'm talking for you, gd, I just said it because I think so too.

Think about that. yes when youre so bullied in a band .. sure noel will split from ignition and marcus after he finds the strength .. they didn't look after him in the horrendous bullied situation of oasis.. he must of stuck with them out of fear? what actions has noel encountered

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Liam went out of his way to knock Noel's solo projects. Noel for the most part held back. It would have been very easy for him to take many cheap shots at Beady Eye. Not sure why you don't agree to this point. I think most would say Noel took the high road in most instances. This could have gotten a lot uglier if two were playing that game.

At the end of the day both DGSS and HFB aren't 'great' (as fans of music / oasis music). every one would agree on that (tho fan boy chart watchers can have their opinion) I understand the angle that you're promoting, but i don't agree thus why I'm saying my opinion.. so not splitting any hairs but just my opinion why liam would be so annoyed after being made the fool from you're brother / band mate after 15 years etc

He did something negative? I was responding to somebody who said that Noel held back from criticizing BDI. So what I meant was Noel holding back didn't seems to have kept BDI going any longer really. If fact there are at least a couple times he defended them. As I said he related that they got a better critical reception that Oasis albums. And later when people were criticizing BDI's sales compared to his he defended them by saying they had sold as many as the recent Monkeys and Kasabian albums. And when someone congratulated him on his first tour selling out faster than BDI's he defended them by saying that their tour had been bigger so it wasn't a fair comparison. Even you say BDI's music "wasn't great" but if Noel had said anything other than that it was great he wouldn't have been doing them a disservice. The next best thing he could do was refusing to give the media a sound bite that they could run criticizing them. Which he did. Unlike Liam who insulted Noel's album outright. What I meant was that the lack of aggression on Noel's side STILL wasn't enough to keep BDI from flopping.

But to be reading it as Liam each week probably wasn't much fun. That of course doesn't justify being nasty about Noel but I think all jaq515 was trying to do was provide some context to it because as much as we might like you can't simply divide things up by years or albums or groups. What happened before influences what follows.

Shame people only see what they want to see Sorry your double negative confused me. lol. It means even with Noel taking the high ground BDI still didn't make it. If Noel criticized BDI it would have be much worse. Short of Noel being their personal cheerleader I think he gave them their best chance from his side and it still flopped. Personally I think Noel really didn't have much to do with BDI's career trajectory. Even the stuff he said in Oasis. Maybe a case could be made that DGSS was less successful because of the publics perception of Liam due to Noel. But BDI lost those fans from DGSS to BE all on their own. I don't think Noel had much to do with that because he generally took the high road.

Noel never said they "lacked good song" from my recollection. He did say they needed a big single. Which they didn't have on either album. That's an objective fact. Presumably Noel knows Liam better than anyone and knew if the fortunes of the band didn't improve Liam would be out of there. Which is what happened. Much to the dismay of the delusional on here who thought Liam didn't care about sales or money. lol. And fact is BDI were just "alright." Particularly at the time. The only way that Noel could have dodged some people saying he wasn't giving BDI their due was by saying they were amazing in every way...which was a lie. He did mention in that press conference that BDI got better reviews than any Oasis album for the past decade which conveniently gets forgotten by those that accuse Noel of being nothing but disparaging about BDI at the press conference. He didn't have to say that but he did. Fact is that if Noel agreed to discuss their music at some point he would say something critical about some song or another and it would be blown out of proportion. There was more than enough to criticize on DGSS. BDI should be thanking Noel for taking a hard line about answering questions about their music. The Roller would like a brief moment of your time because that was "big single" material. Shame it didn't pan out

The Roller deserved much more than #31 or wherever it charted.
Anyway, this thread is getting a bit tiring and boring. It's a bit like listening to a Beady Eye album actually.
Yawn.
Just kidding. Or aren't I?

I was merely only pointing out that I 'm glad Noel didn't get all nasty back to Liam and Beady Eye when things weren't going great for them yet Liam was taking shots at HFB. I'm glad it stayed one sided and did not escalate further.

I'm quite surprised by how much thinly veiled snideness and mocking towards BE there is here. Considering what's happened lately I always thought it would be the other way round. Strange but considering the people maybe not surprising.

You know everything is not an anecdote. You have to discriminate. You choose things that are funny or mildly amusing or interesting. You're a miracle! Your stories have NONE of that. They're not even amusing ACCIDENTALLY! "Honey, I'd like you to meet an Oasis fan, they've got some amusing anecodotes for you. Oh and here's a gun so you can blow your brains out. You'll thank me for it."
I could tolerate any insurance seminar. For days I could sit there and listen to them go on and on with a big smile on my face. They'd say, "How can you stand it?" I'd say, "'Cause I've been with Oasis fans. I can take ANYTHING." You know what they'd say? They'd say, "I know what you mean. The cock ring fans. Woah."
It's like going on a date with a Chatty Cathy doll. I expect you have a little string on your chest, you know, that I pull out and have to snap back. Except I wouldn't pull it out and snap it back - you would. Agh! Agh! Agh! Agh!
And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!
Thanks.

I think Liam and the guys did well with Beady Eye, they weren't commercial enough to be successful..they preferred to stick to an older style of music which is great for Oasis fans (And Beatles I guess)..whether people will say 'they didn't sell out for money/sales' or 'they just weren't good enough..I dunno but i'm glad they did what they did. The Four letter word, The Roller, The morning son, Flick of the finger, Soon come tomorrow, Two of a kind, I'm just saying etc etc..those songs are imo better than any current bands music and they kept me more than occupied over the past few years.. I just hope Liam gets back into making music, alone this time. If he can come up with more like Songbird, I'm Outta Time, The Morning Son, Start a new and love like a bomb..then i'm more than satisfied As for Noel and Liam speaking, i'm pretty sure they've traded a few texts, the re-union will happen eventually if they're still hopefully healthy and well. If so i'd say it will happen within the next 2 years

What is this threat about? The break up _ Noel clearly wanted out, he knows ho to be a dick, Liam at the same time too. There was a clear tension.... maybe maybe If they just could do a gig or two that were planned , had a loong time off e would be talking about Oasis albums, not NGHFB and BDI. The statement Noel made publicly on oasis website there was no way back... Liam_Noel_ - i still think they are like normal brothers just don't visit each other. Imagine working with your brother for 20 years, seeing him every second day and being as mad as Liam was After all they are a family and love each other. Noel says not only but ... public love them two not to be on speaking terms. Noel_the rest of BDI_ reckon hes still close to Gen Chris and maybe even with Andy. Once the tension was over I don t see a reason why the should be in cross. Noel tends to have more celebrity mates... all of them lick his arse and he loves it.
