He's already out of the album top 100 here in The Netherlands. How many do you need to sell to get 100th in the Netherlands? About 6 copies. No, I have no idea, but it's obviously not much.

Noel will be alright. 40 weeks on chart and a platinum disc and everything will be okay. Also he's under his own label, so he got 100%, or so, of the revenues. I mean, he doesn't need to deal with labels. Co-publishing deal with SonyATV, so Basically 75% of the copyrights of his music and the management is owned by him, isn't it? I bet the profits of what he does are pretty pretty high.

sales so far are very low for Noel...if that was a winter release he could have double figures at least...anyway. its a very good album (at least better than all that shit.chart.stuff) and deserves much better than this.

Part of te reason his last album sold so well was the time of year he released it.The xmas period in england is huge for sales and to be honest yes hes appeared in magazines etc but his promotion in the uk hasnt been the usual kind, he will be ok though and i think hes content

The positions at the moment don't really mean much, it's final sales that matter,he could sit at number 19 for the next 10years and sell 20million. In saying that, watch it drop like a stone out of the charts in the following weeks :-(

From memory in late November he sitting say something like #20 on the chart selling 20K or something.

Chart Run: #1-2-4-8-16-15-14 For comparison that is the chart run for HFB I doubt that it'll have the longevity of HFB. But we won't really know until the festival season. The festivals have traditionally been pretty good for both Noel and Beady Eye sales. But the thing that will make the biggest difference is if Noel can still shift decent records through Christmas 2015. That's when he really killed it in 2011. But I think the bloom will be off the Rose at that point. There is no point in comparing sales. Because the chart placements aren't that far off. But that last #14 charting position for HFB? That sold 35K. Probably 5-6 times what last weeks #14 sold.

35k is actually more than twice of what number 1 sold last week...

35k is actually more than twice of what number 1 sold last week... Which in a nutshell is why sales comparisons from one record to another are futile at this point. You almost need to give it a solid 12 months before you can make any comparison. Noel is doing, comparable to the rest to the market, similar to what he did with the last record in the UK. It's just that the market is that much different this time of year.

"CY" sales and chart positions would be (very) good for most artists these days, but for Noel is actually bad, especially after the huge sales of his debut. For next weeks/months, i cant see CY to grow in sales. I believe that it can stay in the uk charts for a long time but with 3-5000 sales per week (or even lower) it will struggle to reach a good status. I m not sure about festivals either.I mean how many sales can CY have in the summer? Noel s not playing Glastonbury and also summer sales are usually low...probably a boost in the top 20 again for 1-2 weeks if he s lucky enough... The only chance to really grow in sales is to keep the album in the charts (even in the lower positions) and in the end of the year to get a few nominations (shit-brits help a lot).If CY stay/comeback in the charts in winter, with a good promo and a new single (TDOTL?) Noel will have the chance to gain good sales for a few weeks. It seems to me like Jake Bugg's case with his 2 albums (both stayed for a long time in the charts but his 2nd album didnt sell even the half of the 1st).anyway, we wait and see and hope ...fucking sam smith and e.sheeran still sell shitloads. do charts matter?of course not when the music is good, but after what happened to Liam/Beady Eye/split, you can never be sure about anyhting, about the reaction of Noel and the risk to turn from a massive sales artist to an old guy that his albums will sell a few and then disappear... i dont want to see that.

We finally know the reason for the poor sales. Because we've all been sharing and downloading 20 year old bootlegs we therefore haven't been buying Noel's new album.
The good news is that Noel's management have realised this and put a stop to it. Good on them!
