Well, actually D'You Know What I Mean? inspired Alex Turner, for example. They still play that one on their dressing room, according to him. They've said many times that Be Here Now got them into music.. Yes, it was Matt Helders' first CD. Also the fact that WTSMG was released in 1995 doesn't mean it can't inspire someone. Music has no age.

Catfish And The Bottlemen were heavily inspired by Oasis,Van is a big Oasis fan I hate to say this but even One Dimension were inspired by Oasis, covering Wonderwall and singing Stop Crying Your Heart Out on the X Factor.

Maroon 5, The Killers, Kasabian, Coldplay too. That doesn't mean anything. They inspired a lot of people, some good, some bad. The song that made Catfish & the Bottlemen's frontman to start a band was Lyla.

Which goes to show that Don't Believe The Truth did in fact inspire new bands.

Also Stop Crying in Your Heart Out out of the Oasis fan-base is much bigger than Live Forever, Rock N Roll Star or Cigarettes & Alcohol. It's a little bit sad, but that's it... The Meaning of Soul clearly inspired Pearl Jam's Olè ahahaha

I think Stop Crying Your Heart Out is popular to that extent because it was the song that was played when England got pumped out of the World Cup. Noel said the pound signs were in his eyes when it was playing and it helped to soften the blow of the defeat.

Leone Lewis won the thing with that song, didn't she? Fucking hell. I can link other 30 links.

Its because simon cowell likes Oasis, liam and noel (obv why he wanted him as judge) so he used that song. Leona lewis actually had Stop Crying Your Heart Out on her album

That's fair enough. I get that their music is very popular across multiple generations but how do the Arctic Moneys influence culture? Not a dig, I'm genuinely curious. The way the kid from the Arctic Monkeys dresses is how kids dress now, I think...when he completely changes his look for the next album, because he's completely fake, it'll be "cool". The Arctic Monkeys music influences other music being made. No current artists are citing DBTT or DOYS as huge influences to my knowledge. I'm sorry, I don't think some of you understand what it means to be relevant or you're really delusional. Again, it is an Oasis forum, so strong feelings are expected, but come on. God bless. I think you've got that the wrong way around - AM were constantly getting less culturally relevant before 2013, so they changed up their style to adapt to current trends and got back in the game. Sure, Alex Turner has a rather distinctive look, but it's one that has been around since 1950.

I wouldn't have thought that! Anyway the last guys singing Stop Crying Your Heart Out... Just like Kanye West sitting on a chair playing some John Denver

Nope, Wonderwall disappeared few months ago. We never had Champagne Supernova official video on Youtube, but we can see the new "version" on OasisVEVO with 3M views now

Seriously? Radiohead are relevant? Well, not over here. It's also only the 90s stuff you hear on the radio. Stuff like Creep, Paranoid Android, Karma Police etc. I hardly ever hear them being mentioned anywhere. Geez......you can also say that about Oasis with songs like Live Forever, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova. All songs from 1994/1995! RADIOHEAD are still embraced for the most part in critics circles. Oasis didn't have that impact.

Is anyone relevant anywhere? I'm definitely relevant. That's true. I've seen people walking about wearing George Harrison monkey masks.

Radiohead went on to release not one but two masterpieces after their acclaimed Ok Computer in 1997. The album's being Kid A in 2000 and In Rainbows in 2007. Sadly Oasis would never rise to the heights of DM or MG again.
