Why are so many on here obsessed with charts and sales, it does not in anyway determine whether and albums good or not & shouldn't change any fans opinion of the album. Whether this album sells loads long term like Noel's first is to be seen but honestly who cares!! I get the bitter Liam/Beady Eye fans will dig at anything negative they can find but surely people have better things to do. Talk about something that matters! Sales and charts don't! Then leave the thread? You don't have to click on it. It's not like this is invading other threads.

This comes from the man who said it was a 'great time to be a noel fan' because he's getting good reviews. You've been quite active the in review thread, how's the view of a journalist relevant at all. You seem to accept that as a relevant measure but not sales. I 100% agree with top half of your post tho

No surprise, #1 in the Official Midweek Chart. Let's see how many copies he got on his pocket.

All those figures are pretty poor, so no one wins really. But in what way are Beady Eye bigger than NGHFB in Japan? BE was released like 21 months ago and sold 11,516 first week. The music industry in Japan has been in constant decline before and since, and yet CY still outsells BE. The only reason DGSS sold that many (relatively speaking) is because it was the first post Oasis album to be released. I'd even argue that the terrible quality of DGSS probably put some people off buying NGHFB. Furthermore, BE sold 17,000 less than DGSS despite being released only 28 months later. CY has sold 8000 less than NGHFB despite being released 41 months later. Anyone who think Beady Eye are bigger than NGHFB in Japan is kidding themselves. Haha! DGSS Put people off, yeah ok. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Yeah, listening to DGSS does help me sleep at night.

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if Beady Eye are the reason music sales globally dropped in recent years, albums are enough to send anyone off music : ) Charts & sales don't matter but it's still good to see Noel doing so well.

I'm actually kind of curious if Musicweek will give an up-to-date total for HFB1 so far.
I think we were more or less guesstimating towards the end about sales based on reported sales above and below.

The number one is in the bag just a question of how many he sells.I think he will do about 90-100 k at a guess

Have you ever discussed a band you disliked so much? Have you always had a tendency toward being snide? Is it not a bad sign that you consistently compare your hero to a band YOU apparently consider the lowest common denominator?

Looks like he could do a couple weeks at number one unless there is anything particularly big coming out or Ed Sheeran plays the Whitehouse or something.

I don't think she sells half as many anymore to be honest but you would think she would sell enough as Noel's sales will dip loads.

Depends on first week sales for Noel. If he makes 120k and has a 50% drop the next week, the next question would be if Madonna can shift above 60k. She couldn't for her last album, though this one she has been promoting fairly heavily. However, one would think with market trends that if it was difficult to sell more than 60k the last time around, it may be fairly difficult to do so three years later.

Can see noel selling 35-40 k next week if and if he does about 100 k this week if he gets to around 120-130 k this week he might hold her off it all depends.

No way to know how many copies it's sold? All that's been reported are the 48.6k copies which was updated yesterday. That total should be what he racked up in pre-sale, which is a damn good total for pre-sale alone. He'd probably #1 this week if he only had pre-sale to fall back on and didn't sell a single copy. Good thing is that he's been #1 on I-tunes for three straight days & #1 on Amazon. Noel has a bit older fanbase, so he should be shifting a decent amount of physical sales too. I think he matches HFB's opening 120k or gets very close, which would be a big accomplishment considering that the market has changed since about 4 years ago.

I agree 120 k is a great opening its not about how long he can stay at number one it's about longevity sustaining sales for a Period of time which I think this album will.
