11 pages about charting? Who cares.

Maybe this poster just wants attention and to feel important. Charts don't matter to Noel, it will not influence whether he makes another album or tours bàsed on where he is in the charts. What is the point of this? lol.

What is the point of this? lol. I'm trying to be nice, but I really can't, sorry. #1. Chasing Yesterday Charting Thread (Read 6,958 times) #2. If you don't like this thread, you don't need to click on it. Do you know? #3. Charts/Sales are important. For every artist. #4. Last time he kept touring also because the album was successful #5. You can share your opinion here without being arrogant. Otherwise I become arrogant too. And this is the last time I answer to someone talking about this. I/We will update the midweek chart and the final chart, 2 times a week. It's okay or Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II asked you to stop this because she doesn't like it?

Actually it's really simple: if you're not interested, stay away from this thread.
I'm not really into charts, but I don't feel the need to come here and whine every fucking time.

They're playing it a lot on the radio here in Italy, I've never heard it but lots of my friends have I heard it in a taxi in Rome. I don't listen to the radio so much. He's doing well right here. With this pre-order thing (to get ITHOTM) he could have a #1 album after HFB charted at #2

A bit before it was released and the week of release and a bit of the week after I heard it a lot, but I haven't heard it since.

So a few hours ago I said I hadn't heard it since. Funny thing is, I just took a shower with the radio on and within a few minutes that song came on!

The people who don't like the thread probably don't want to hear that the chart numbers aren't good. I'm starting to think this may be a tough release for NG.

He's about to sell out an arena tour fffs. And has a top 30 single this album cycle, while probably on his way to another. He'll do platinum in the UK and he'll struggle everywhere else. Not that different from last time out. Anyone who thinks he's shifting 800k+ in UK again was already expecting him to fail anyways. His final numbers: 500k in the UK and 400k every where else. If that's a struggle, I'm fine with it

Lastly, he's barely done any major promotion and started 5 1/2 months before his album release date. Anyone expecting that he'd race to Top 20 of iTunes and maintain for 5 1/2 is fooling themselves.
It'll be a slow burn until 3 weeks prior to the release when album sales should pick up. That's when you'll know how he's going to chart. He's just accumulating pre-sales right now. When that three week happens he should have a pretty good base. Which should make his first week sales higher. Would be surprised if he didn't have 90k+ in his opening week. Will probably do 110-120k.
Until that three week happens no one knows how his chartings look. It's just guessing right now.
Edit:
Actually, if I had to guess, I would say his album is already at 9-10k in presales in the UK alone. Just because I believe In the Heat of the Moment sold about 18k in the UK. Even if only half the people who bought the single bought the album, then that's 9-10k right there.

If that's a struggle, I'm fine with it See This post puts it in perspective ......I've said all along when talking about lp expectations they shouldn't be set high ( I don't like the new tune but I'll buy the lp ) THe days of Oasis chart dominance are long gone ....... Noel is very happy going the paul weller route the old " true " jam fans support and whatever new ones he picks up is cake . .if noel gets the numbers you say , some here may deem it a failure ,but for a mid 40s britpop star ( the biggest star along with liam ) the numbers you predict will be a solid lp for bis market , he still will sell out UK arenas , and be a force . See I always thought noel was satisfied with this ,where as liam wanted to take BDI to Oasis heights. that was not gonna happen not even oasis can reach oasis HEIGHTS anymore . So yea those numbers I would say would be a success...

Good to see the album rising in Norway. Are you from Norway? If yes, have you heard ITHOTM or TBOMI on any radio station? I am, yes. And no, I haven't heard it at all on any radio station. Norwegian radio stations are usually crap. We used to have a good radio station called p3, but even that station is mostly playing Top 40 hits all day for the most part.

2 weeks out from release. Figured it was worth taking a snapshot of Noel's place of the pre-order charts. Amazon # 1 (deluxe), #53 (regular) iTunes #4 (2 albums ahead of him are released Feb 16 [imagine dragons, Charli XCX, and the other not until June [Florence and the Machine]) Play #2, #5 (#1 and 4 are some band called Thunder, release date February 16) Last weeks # 1 sold 22K. Doubt anything coming in the next couple weeks will challenge Noel for his #1. I would assume that there will be a significant step down in sales from his October 2011 release as the October market is much bigger for new music. Plus no song on a advertisement. But pretty much confirms the #1

The album was released in few countries yesterday. In particular Ireland and Germany.
iTunes Ireland #1 & #15 Germany #2 (#1 is that compilation of Shadow grey thing. I guess it doesn't count on the chart) Luxemburg #2 Switzerland #4 Austria #8 Belgium #8 & 16
Amazon Ireland amazon is included on Amazon.co.uk, right? Germany #4 (the others are 2 compilations, so basically a #2)
In Japan in the daily chart was #7 the 26 february. That's an important market for him, should have at least a #5.
