No. He never plagiarised his own vocal melodies before. Let alone putting 3 of his songs in one song. I'm ok with the rest. I even admire the other self plagiarising. But this is one is blatanty uninspired. Damn. I even thought I cleared it. I said "worse than ever". And no, the last ten years weren't a bad time. Just because you arbitrarily draw the line at vocal melodies doesn't mean we all have to. I think this is a solid bside, not nearly as offensive as you're making it out to be. Anyways, the album is called Chasing Yesterday ffs. I don't mind a few homages here and there to his earlier work. Noel himself said "chasing yesterday" has nothing to do with that. It is offensive for Noel standards. He have never done that before. It's still good for nowadays standards, nevertheless. |

DTD features the most generic vocal melodies ever done by Noel. That aside, the sax sounds cool, the mood reminds me of that in freaky teeth, mature and a bit obscure. The sax solo is a rip off of Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is. |

I see Noel as the David Lynch of music. out of his league, going places, but always sticking to his roots, re-working the same stories all the time. he knows he has never got it totally right, but it was never about being right. it was about evolution. David Lynch has the red curtains. Noel has the capo. I like Noel Gallagher. I don't like David Lynch films. Dune....shirtless Sting............the horror............................ Twin peaks its self is almost an analogy for Oasis, Absolutely amazing start, changed the landscape of its medium, highly influential to those that came after it.. but sort of fizzled out towards the end. Lyrics to the chorus are a lot clearer in this. Someone with a more keen ear than I could probably make it out now.

Finally caved and bought DTD on itunes, wasn't in a rush as I bought the vinyl single and was dissapointed with the lack of download code.
Anyway this song is fantastic, the last b-side to be better was probably Shout It Out Loud way back in 2002!
