I wonder what 1995 Noel would say if someone would go back in time and told him he'd write this in 2014 and then played it to him.

All I can say , is a lot here are saying after a third listen it's a grower , to me THATS not good , up until doys. I never had to listen to a Oasis. Tune twice to love it , including SOTSOG and I loved BHN. If u need more than 1 listen ...imo. Mind you your trying to hear something you did not at first listen ...the magic of rock , the making of a great tune , you hear once your hooked .....most seem to need more listens. If it wasn't noel most would probably not give it a third listen ....why I believe when this hype ends. The objective listener will be dissapointed ,.,sorry. My opinion. I never had to listen to a song twice let alone 3 times to like ...sounds like people are WANTING TO LIKE ..not all but certainly many .,,me I heard it once. DONT need twice its ..EH. BUT ILL BUY IT CAUSE ITS GALLAGHER RELATED Mate I'm sorry but it's each to their own.. I never have been able to judge a song after 1 or 2 listens. I discover new bits, new catchy bits I try not to judge it for a while. 1st listen I thought it was ok. 4th listen in I'm liking even more- the only way I've listened to it is through a shitty I phone, when I have it properly blasting it loud i just know I'm gonna fucking love it!!

flick of the finger > in the heat of the moment altough I share a similar opinion, I was hoping, that the comparisons will start later, cause after a post like this, the Liam VS Noel thing starts and man .... that is just exhausting.

Hmmmmm, this song if it doesn't grow is heading into "guff" territory.

Wow, it ACTUALLY sounds modern! Was really worried we'd get some dad rock. Really good beat and groove to it. I wish latter Oasis were like this. Seems like producing it himself has worked wonders - really like the clear cut sound to it, and not the murkiness of Sardy. Noel, all by himself, is beginning to drag himself out of his 1960s stupor. For the first time at 47 years old. But a really really encouraging sign for the new album. That's what I thought. I couldn't necessarily see Oasis doing this song. Liked it from the first blues stop and lick. Nice mix of blues, disco, and a bit of the 2010's Foster the People Bit to it. Strong first single.

LOL. And the very first question at the Facebook Q&A mentioned an Oasis reunion...! Predictably, Noel looked at the guy and said, What reunion?

It's a good song, definitely more modern than the classis Oasis sound we're use to. I'm just not a big fan of those nananas, the rest of the song works fine.

Good, I really like it but it definitely seems to be the Lyla of the album. Right Noel, these songs are great but we need an instant, catchy song for radioplay.
Erm I've got this song, In The Heat Of The Moment, the bulk of the song is great but I haven't really nailed the chorus yet...whatever it'll do...
Don;t think i'm disparaging it because like i siad I think it's great but that chorus is just so generic and uninteresting imo, which is a shame because the rest of the song is perfect and these verses are beautiful!

I like the song. Not because it's something incredible in songwriting terms, it's not. I like it because there's a life in it. I'm looking forward to the album, looks like Noel is taking us somewhere further from Oasis classic songwriting again. I'm following him as long as i feel he's going wherever he fuckin' wants. He has a huge credit in me, and this is a first single that makes me even more interested in the upcoming album. For reasons unknown really, cause the song is nothing spectacular.

Am I the only one that actually liked it after the first listen? I was a bit worried by the snippet but when he blasted out the last choruses on my first full run through I enjoyed it. I reckon if he replaced the Nah, Nah, Nahs with Dave Sitek horns it would sound absolutely mega. With "Sitek horns" do you mean like the horns on Prodigys "Stand Up" cos that would've been kinda cool!

I agree... Kalas, I know you give off this "elder statesman of rock" kind of vibe.. but a song like this is different. When Oasis released stadium rock songs, it is easier to listen to at first because you know what to expect. However, when a song like this comes out, you DO need to listen to it a few times. In fact, for you to make a judgement on a song after one listen is ridiculous.
