I want either Come On Outside or Dying Of The Light tomorrow.
I strongly believe we will hear The Dying Of The Light during the broadcast with Jo Wiley on the radio tomorrow night.

Why does everyone want those songs? Don't you want new songs?

Imho i don't think we'll hear "The Dying of The Light" tomorrow. What are the chances the first teaser-single for the upcoming album to be a mid-tempo ballad (great nonetheless)? More chances for an upbeat song, i'll say.

Why does everyone want those songs? Don't you want new songs? They are new songs. Brand, spanking new. We just happen to be ahead of the curve. Additionally, we haven't really heard them. Just a scratchy recording.

I still find it hard to understand how a guitarist can go from playing 5 min solos to hardly playing them at all. The last Noel guitar solo I enjoyed playing was TIOBI, which happened like a decade ago. Guitar solos as a thing are pretty much dead in modern music though.

Why the hell should he not release songs like The Dying of the Light, just to satisfy the hardcore fanbase? Let's remember, the general public have no idea these songs exist.
Sure enough, I'd have queries if he puts poor songs on the album that we've already heard (She Must Be One Of Us), but if they are quality, then they SHOULD go on the album regardless of whether we've heard them.

Where is Webby's track list? Couldn't find it in these last few pages... The fact that 'Lock All The Doors' is one of the tracks - which was reworked basically into My Sister Lover - suggests it's bullshit.

I change. man.. do you change? evolution? does that tell you something? who wants guitar solos anyway? you've got a bunch of records coming out with insipid solos everywhere, go listen to them if you want. I'll just enjoy the songs from the best songwriter of this planet.

sorry for the rant Mr Metal (!!) hope you have a GREAT Sunday.
listening to HFB... Jesus Freaks is a fucking tune!!! fits perfectly as #7 on the record lyrics are fucking nice. his mind is up there with the Davies, Bowie and fucking Slade. pop at its best. feel sorry for the die hard Oasis fans who can't get where he's at now. he's UP there. you probably can't see.

You're talking about guitar solos, not Noel guitar solos. While never the most technical, Noel guitar solos are just special to me. Classic Noel solos used to be events in themselves, rather than tools to fill gaps in a song like many crap solos are.

No problem. I wasn't trying to insult Noel's songwriting by the way. EOTR is one my fav songs ever and it doesn't have a guitar solo. A good song definitely doesn't need a guitar solo. But I genuinely want to know what happened. He used to extend the CS outro with basically one long solo, which I assumed meant that he liked soloing and was confident in his ability (he didn't NEED to extend the CS outro). Did the BHN backlash really destroy his confidence in soloing that much? Or did he just get tired of them? If I ever meet Noel, this is the one question I'll ask him. And for the record, I love Jesus Freaks too. One of my favs on the album and vastly underrated by almost everyone.

The forum is going to explode in less than 24 hours!
Has anyone thought that this could potentially be a double album? After all we know that noel has tons of songs lying around. Why not just get rid off 20 of the best and blow us all away?

I think I read some interview in which he said double albums are bullshit and arrogant unless you're the Beatles or one of the few other bands he mentioned that I forgot.

Yeah it was arcade fire he was criticising wasn't it? At the end of the day as long as you have enough material to sustain a double album then why the fuck not?

The ironic thing about Noel's Arcade Fire double album comments is that he admitted to not have heard the LP at all. Besides, Reflektor is actually shorter than The Suburbs which is a single CD.
