If this is right - and we have to be tentative on here because the 'friend of Noel' may be a bullshitter - then perhaps it is an EP, considering the length of time between October and March. Perhaps it's Freaky Teeth as the single - it would make sense in that its a well known song already, so to use such an old song as an EP would make sense to just 'get it out there'. I'd be chuffed with a studio version of Freaky Teeth and 3 or 4 more songs. This would certainly keep us going until March. Lets not hold our breathes though eh!

Love the way people now think that The Dying of The Light is genuinely the first single and completely missed the joke.

That was released Record Store Day 2011 I think - it was pretty much recorded during Suck It & See, and was used as a template for AM. Really just a stand alone single at the time, and it evolved to become part of their new sound.

Am I the only one who hates Freaky Teeth with a passion? Honestly, I just don't see it.

I don't hate it, but I'll be damned disappointed if it's on the album. It was catchy at first, but dang people, it's been played on tour and everybody has heard a studio/demo version. Enough already with Freaky Teeth!

I'd prefer Freaky Teeth to be a b-side. It is a nice twist on the standard Noel song. I just want a fresh set of new songs but I enjoy Freaky Teeth a good bit.

I really like it and it's a great live song, but as you said I'd rather have something new, Freaky Teeth has been around for a while now

Think the main problem I have with it is that it doesn't suit Noel's voice. If Liam was singing it I'd probably li... nah it's shit.

OK just a question: before EVERY release... every single one of them, we get this random person, usually with a small post count, coming in saying he knows this and that from a source very close to someone and blah blah blah. I mean, no offense to the original poster, but experience has taught us that this type of post don't deserve three bloody pages of comments. If things confirm, then I will stand corrected. But if we look back at previous posts like this one, it's probably bullshit. It could easily be bullshit but I enjoy all this speculation.

I recently met somebody whom has a relative who works for Sony and they mentioned that the paperwork for the next Sour Mash release has been filed within the last week.
The dates given are close to the mark. If a mid-October announcement is planned, then getting the documentation ready 6 weeks in advance sounds about right. New music is coming.

I'm tempted to believe this. Late October sounds about right. No point sitting twiddling his thumbs when the album is finished and good to go. Don't think Dying Of The Light will be the first single. But I like surprises.

The best things about new Oasis, and related, albums are the speculations, the rumors, the fake track listings, the trolls, etc. all these elements build excitement.
I joined this forum in April 2005, and got to experience the massive build up to DBTT. And DOYS, as well, of course. The anticipation of an Oasis release is just as magical as the first listen.
Looks like this forum will be waking up as the natural lull between albums comes to an end with Noel's pending release.
Really looking forward to this album. I'm busy as fuck for the foreseeable future, but nevertheless: bring it on.
Also, Dying Light best be on the album. Knowing Noel, it'll be a b-side lol. Seriously, though. Would also love Revolution Song.
I digressed. Mad Fer It.

Just thinking out loud so please don't think I'm pouring scorn on your information.
If there is a single out in October then following most major acts and also what Noel did himself for his debut single and album, then a selected radio station, we'll say XFM, would have a first play premiere advertised around about now as usually a new single gets 4-6 weeks airplay before release. Usually there would be a date for a video premiere via either the official YouTube or a TV station. Where's Bonkers when you need some info on a video shoot?!
There would also usually be a website update with the new artwork theme and also there would be a pre-order for the CD/ Vinyl / Digital release on his website like what happened in July 2011 for the UK single, The Death of You and Me and the US single If I Had a Gun...
None of this has happened so has Noel and his management going against their own traditions? Is it perhaps a promo single like Beady Eye did with Bring the Light before giving it limited release?
Let's see if you're right. All the best.
Riddler, you out there?
