Very... dull. That chorus is so lack luster.

Not bad, but the beach part on the video was a bit embarrassing.

As someone who loved the early Verve stuff, i cannot for the life of me work out why people wanted him to write anything for Liam.
His "swagger" too. Cringe.

Too long and not hooky enuff on first listen.
I like the kitchen sink reference...once Richie started the “come on’s” in the outro...it...was...too...much.
If Richie likes it, then that’s okay w/ me. Always good to have another RA album. I don’t think I got past the first six songs on These People, but I liked it good enough.
I came to Ian Brown’s solo stuff well after and not in any chronological order...but his mix of electronic/guitar and different styles is awesome.
I love RA, and after nearly 20 years of being a fan and not seeing him, I saw RA twice in a year (Castlefield Bowl and Philly w/ LG). I’ll always love RA and really like the UNOS album/vibe and would prefer more of that...as opposed to Kate Radley love ballads.

Nothing special... I think this will be the general vibe of the album because during that interview Richard said the album was a lot more uplifting than his others.

Bloody hell. This must be what Faces fans feel like with Rod Stewart’s solo material.
But even with that, Stewart’s solo career is still better than Ashcroft’s.

Im glad i didnt have high expectations for his new songs. So mediocre and boring, sounds like a quickly produced b-side. Whats most embarrasing is the fact that Richard said this is his strongest set of songs to date. If this first single is anything to judge the rest of the album on, then i think he needs his brain checked. Thanks Richard, for wasting 10 years on your solo career, when that time could have been spent producing amazing albums with The Verve

Hard to imagine this is the same guy who gave the world the brilliance of Gravity Grave isn't it? I'll still buy his album though as I will always love Ashcroft's spirit and his views on the world and life in general.

This guy used to kick so much ass and it's sad to see the caricature he's become.

I miss Nick McCabe and co’s fantastic music.

This guy used to kick so much ass and it's sad to see the caricature he's become. The way they worked a lot in the studio meant that for a lot of the songs, Ashcroft would have to work a melody around a backing track that the band had composed. Because of the more ethereal and heavy discordant nature to the music, Ashcroft was forced to write more interesting melodies as opposed to the glib, kitsch sentimental guff he writes as a solo artist. If we’re talking latter Ashcroft here, that’s why you’ll never hear a song as majestic as Sit & Wonder in his solo career. Although you could tell which songs had largely been written by Ashcroft prior to coming into the studio.

Agree with all the comments above. What surprised me was the almost universal love for the song on his facebook and other social media pages.
It's almost as if some of the brain dead indie fans have assigned him this godlike status because Noel dedicated one song to him whilst coked up in 95.
