That interview is unintentionally hilarious:
"Just trying to work out that outfit there Richard, was it a polar neck and a gas mask?" "That's right, yeah."

He's soooo cringe in interviews, talking in arty riddles. Surprised that Liam likes him, he must reign it in when he's around him.

I find it quite frustrating that he never simply answers a question.

Listened to the new one enough times to be able to give a proper verdict. In my opinion, in some ways this is great - in other ways, more of the same (and I don't mean that in a good way).
Everybody Needs Somebody to Hurt - Just perfect Picture of You - Just perfect Future so Bright - Perfect! Black Lines - Classic Ashcroft but it does go on a minute too long at the end This is how it feels - Pretty good now, love the vocal sample and upbeat feel
Songs of Experience - decent closer, decent song Out of My Body - I love how it starts, goes back and forth, but too dancy for my liking They Don't Own Me - a bit standard Ashcroft, generally good but goes on too long Hold On - Not a terrible song but for someone like Ashcroft its so generic but fits on the album These People - to me, this is just solo Ashcroft at its most typical in the worst way
Ultimately the second half is a totally different album in terms of quality of listen, though the first has its moments. It shows 'bog standard' solo Richard (These People), pop star Richard (Hold On), and acoustic singer-songwriter Richard (They Don't Own Me). Glad we hear more of the acoustic singer-songwriter Richard on the second half, though some of his experiments are noteworthy (This is How it Feels) and I appreciate what he's doing on Out of My Body but like I said, goes way too dancey for me.
So overall, not disappointed. Pretty good, considering my expectations were very low. But objectively, I'd say its a pretty decent record - so a 6.5/10.

As he mentioned on Breakfast Show yesterday, new headline show has been announced:
“I am really excited to announce that I'll be playing the Liverpool Arena on December the 7th and the London 02 Arena on December the 9th. I'm going to be performing with an orchestra and you are going to hear all the classics from Lucky Man, Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Drugs Don't Work, Sonnet through my solo career, it should be an extravaganza.”
The exclusive pre-sale starts today at 9am. The pre-sale allocations are sold on a first come/first served basis, and tickets go on general sale and from the venues this Friday 27th at 9am

out of my body is an odd one for me, the live version sounds mega, theres more melody, bass and a great piano part during the choruses but the album version just doesnt have the same drive behind it for my liking...

He needs to lose the shades and scarfs. And to fix that haircut. Jesus, he looks like an American rapper and probably eat a sandwich or two

The more I listen to this album, the more I'm liking it. Its not as boring as perhaps I first thought.

Hold On They Don't Own Me is the best song by far on the album. Fixed I like Hold On by the way, but it's a tad cheesy.

The first time I heard the record I thought it was absolutely pointless... a few strong points but overall quite poor. However, the more I listen the more apreciate it and dig it. One of those records you should give a good few listens before making judgments.

Oh well. I was hoping for some European gigs. Me too...He was quite talkable. Richard kind of interviews himself. You'd probably get in three questions an hour if you chatted to him. I interviewed Paul Gascoigne some years back and he was the same. Although I'm pretty sure he'd just done a mound of cocaine about two minutes before.

Hold On is the best song by far on the album. I can't help but read this sentence, look at your avatar, and assume you are speaking tongue-in-cheek. Then again, if you do think its the best song by far, I'm glad you enjoy it. It's definitely not the one track I would have expected you to pick.

Any chance of him doing a North American tour? I unfortunately doubt it. That said, if he does do a stop in Canada besides Toronto, I have a feeling you and I will be at the same gig!

He's playing in HMV in London later today. Also there's a last push to get this to number one with a download only costing £4.99 for today only.
