Great songs as B-Sides? That sounds familiar... Noel Gallagher learned from the best.
Use Me Up is brilliant, I like it more than some album tracks!

Johnny was forced to cancell all his following US dates due to his close family's serious illness. His statement is on his official website. We wish all the best to you and your family, Johnny! I was lucky enough to catch the last gig before he cancelled.

So which of the 2 albums do you prefer now that Playland's been out a little while?

So which of the 2 albums do you prefer now that Playland's been out a little while? I lean Playland but both have a very similar sound. Almost like companion albums.

" Johnny Marr is set to mark this year’s Record Store Day with a numbered limited edition 7” release of his interpretation of Depeche Mode’s 1993 classic ‘I Feel You’. Marr played the track live during the closing shows of last December’s North American tour. The single’s b-side is a live version of The Smiths’ ‘Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want’." soundcloud.com/officialjohnnymarr/i-feel-youAwesome cover

The song "Playland" sounds like the year 1986 and could be a song Ferris Bueller drives around to in Chicago.

This was a live favourite. All around me there were complete strangers with their arms around each other in tears when he started to play it. The guitar is superb.

I'll add that I like the video too. Nothing happens, it doesn't really tell a story but it fits the mood of the song. And it's very well filmed.

Love Candidate. My most favourite song from "Playland". I sometimes get mad that Johnny has only really been a "solo" artist for the last 3-4 years. He could have been pumping out tunes like this since the late 80s if he wished.

He could have been pumping out tunes like this since the late 80s if he wished. I can never be mad at Johnny , but I know what you mean. Probably he just loved to work with other bands/musicians and didn't want to be a front man. He's a modest guy, but kind of a "changing man". Joined Modest Mouse and make one album, then off he goes. Joined The Cribs and made one album, then off he goes again. He might stop being a solo after a couple of albums and joins another band again or restart The Healers?, I don't know. All I know is, that I'll support this guy whatever he does.

I thought Electronic were great as well. Great band and incredibly underrated! Twisted Tenderness is my favorite album from them (Vivid, Flicker and Prodigal Son are absolute tunes), but I like pretty much everything they've done.
