Johnny's releasing a live album on October 9th, called Adrenaline Baby: louderthanwar.com/johnny-marr-to-release-live-album-and-uk-tour-dates/Judging from the tracklist, I'm sure it'll be great! 1. Playland 2. The Right Thing Right 3. Easy Money 4. 25 Hours 5. New Town Velocity 6. The Headmaster Ritual 7. The Messenger 8. Back In The Box 9. Generate! Generate! 10. Bigmouth Strikes Again 11. Boys Get Straight 12. Candidate 13. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out 14. Dynamo 15. I Fought The Law 16. How Soon Is Now? I might actually buy that, it's a shame that it doesn't have Please Please Please though.

Listening to Johnny's live album right now. Great performance, he and the band were on top form when it was recorded.

I saw Johnny last November too at the O2 academy in Glasgow. It was a really fantastic gig although he was spouting some utter shite between some of the songs. If he wasn't teetotal, I'd swear he was pished.

This arrived today and I've already started to read it! Let me know if it's worth picking up.

It certainly will be an easier read than the overwrought style of Moz's autobiography. Plus Marr is optimistic & friendly, that positiveness should also come across in his book. I think I'll read it (didn't know it was already released though).

Officially it's out tomorrow, but for some reason it arrived at my doorstep today. and yes, it's much more simple to read than the one by Moz which I haven't even finished to read it yet after years.

This arrived today and I've already started to read it! Ahh I'm so jealous I pre-ordered it weeks ago and it got shipped yesterday from the UK. It will take a while to come down here though, knowing the efficiency of our postal service... Can't wait to read it.

and yes, it's much more simple to read than the one by Moz which I haven't even finished to read it yet after years. When you eventually get to finish it, no one will grudge you a few months' rest before you start "List of the lost". I wonder what Johnny says about Oasis in his book: he was considered as a replacement for Bonehead in 1999 (WHY didn't Noel follow through? ), played on several tracks in the "Heathen chemistry" era, plus "Ballad of the mighty I".

I'm really enjoying to read his autobiography. I'm on chapter 4 now and his younger brother Ian was just born (later Noel's mate in his Hacienda days and the one who gave Noel's demo tape to Johnny). #AskJohnnyMarr "Do you prefer Liam Gallagher or Noel Gallagher?" "What? I'm not 7 years old"

There's also an audio book of "Set The Boy Free" narrated by Johnny available. I think I'm gonna buy it as well.

I feel that Morrissey's autobiography gave a greater sense of importance to his solo career than it deserved - I think less than a third of the book was focused on The Smiths, with a very tedious section on the court case. The first half of his autobiography was genuinely great though. His description of his northern working class upbringing was as eloquent as any lyric he wrote in The Smiths and it really seemed to capture that melancholy he excels at, and provides as great an indication of his personality formation than anything he has ever done. Towards the end though, it's difficult to relate to his fame and fortune in LA and the emphasis he gives to albums that don't deserve it as much as his best.
I'd hope that Johnny's autobiography is a bit more self aware however and hopefully doesn't relatively undermine The Smiths work too much in comparison to his later works.
