Just ordered the new LP this weekend at my local record shop. Loved the first album (second was okay) but this one seems like I will quite enjoy it.

It was a kick off of his 12 album launch shows last night and I'll be at one of those next week. Have fun Mimmi! I went to see him on Saturday here in Dublin and it was amazing, even though he had some problems with his guitar. It's a privilege to see a living legend like him in such a small venue. The songs that I heard from his new album are very good. Thank you. Glad to hear that you had a great time, theclock. It's been 3,5 years since when I saw him for the last time and I can't tell how excited I am now. Was there a support act? because it looks like he doesn't have one at his album launch shows.

i like Johnny singing it just fine. his tunes are vastly different when he writes for his voice. i honestly can't imagine Morrissey singing any of Johnny's solo stuff. it worked for The Smiths...a long time ago.

Last night gig was fantastic. It was my 5th time seeing Johnny (1 with Modest Mouse, 2 x with The Cribs and 2 x solo) He was cooler than ever and he was clearly enjoying playing a gig. New songs from his upcoming new album sounded great and I think I'll love this new album more than "Playland". Setlist was mixed of new songs (mostly), a couple of The Smiths and Electric. The venue was packed and it was a great pleasure to be able to be at his album launch show. I can't wait to his new album and to seeing him very soon again. Johnny Marr, you're a truly guitar wizard. Amsterdam setlist: PS: his guitar neck nearly hitted my head when he played at the edge of the stage. He then smiled like "don't worry, I won't hurt you".

glad you had a great show mimmi this blows me away... Thank you. He played this song in Amsterdam as well, the first song for encore. It's a cracking tune. I think his new album is more "rocking" than Playland and more synthe, but at same time it includes such a beautiful song like "Hi Hello". I've seen Johnny 5 times so far and Moz for 4 times. I've seen both of them playing a couple of The Smiths songs. Last time when I saw Johnny 3,5 years ago, he played "Still Ill" for encore. I nearly lost myself when I heard the intro. This time he played "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" and it was unreal. He really is my forever guitar hero and a guitar wizard. Bravo to Johnny F**king Marr!

The runtime for 'Walk into the Sea' is up on iTunes now. It comes in at 6:02.
'The Tracers' and 'Hi Hello' came out on Fridays, didn't they? Maybe we'll have this new one by the 25th.

Yes, I take that "Walk Into The Sea" will be released this Friday. BTW, "Jeopardy" is a killer tune. Johnny is back to his Healer's era hair cut now and cool as heaven.

Bravo to Johnny F**king Marr! i saw the smiths on their first US tour. it's indelible in my mind. saw johnny on his first solo tour on the messenger. (always meant to see the healers) have never seen morrissey solo but have loved his records and his band (except for last one) for me- seeing johnny that time- i was and still am blown away by how well he and his band play the smiths classics. not that anyone should be surprised by that. but it's strikingly clear who 'owns' the guitar parts, so to speak- and it's not boz..or moz.

It's incredible how he plays the guitar. All chords are simple, but only Johnny can make that sound, nobody else. If I was a boy, I would certainly pick a guitar and follow his path. New songs sounded all fantastic live. My favourites are Walk Into The Sea, Jeopardy, Riser, Hey Angel, Hi Hello, Bug (Johnny introduced this song "it's about the idiot in White House" at Amsterdam) and Spiral Cities. I know now already that I'll love this new album. What a man is that, my guitar wizard.
