I saw that, and I'll be fucking angry if the US get it, too. I know England were part of the 2018 bid, but the US hosted it in 1994, for fucks sake. 1994, as in less than 30 fucking years apart, if they get it in 2022. How the FUCK does that make any god damned sense? I hope it goes to Australia - they never hosted it before, they aren't corrupt, and they have the capacity to pull it off (unlike Qatar). Although the time difference would indeed suck, but that's neither here nor there. I will move to fucking Qatar if the 2022 World Cup is in the US. FUCK THAT.

THIS isn't mine (link below), but it's a very astute observation that I never actually thought of before, and may actually hold some verifiable significance: "Whilst I think Cesc will be a useful squad member for Chelsea, I do not see him as being the star influential midfielder.
Like Rooney, Cesc has been playing top level football on a regular basis since he was 17 and it can be reasonably argued that both of their peak years were 2006-2012 (20 to 26 years old).
It is difficult to quantify but in my opinion, as most top flight footballers do not play regularly until they are c.20-21yrs, the likes of Rooney and Cesc are running short of gas and are now playing more like veterans in their early 30s.
It's a game of opinions!"www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk/index.php/news/4185/30/Cesc-Fabregas-Enough-already

Ryan Gauld transferred to Sporting Lisbon. Shame for Dundee Utd but it's a good move to continue his development also - he would stagnate if he went to England, and the Portugese League is a perfect place to hone skills. Thoughts globe? I looked up Ian Cathro and Ryan Gauld pretty much owes his career to him. Cathro is just the sort of skills and expressive coach that Scottish football (and British football in general) is crying out for.

I'm chuffed for the wee guy, he'll get a chance to play in a league where he'll get time on the ball and not be booted all over the park! He's got great potential, hopefully he will get some time in the Champions League games too. I'm more concerned about losing Andy Robertson now! You are right about Cathro, I actually thought Levein might have tried to take him to Hearts. He is a great coach, unfortunately most coaches, clubs and the footballing authorities here are still stuck in the dark ages - I think Cathro has met a lot of resistance because he never played the game at any level.

That's massive - just looked it up, following Rio Ave's manager Santo to Spain. I know Valencia haven't done much since Benitez left but they're still a big club. Fingers crossed it works out at Valencia - think they're in the process of a takeover so Santo and Cathro may have a lot of resources to work from. Chuffed for him, great to see a young talented coach from Scotland getting a big role in Europe.

Afterall these years i still HATE the "new" Arsenal crest. The old one had so much class, the current one looks trashy and cartoonish.

Granted, winning the PL is better than not, but winning the FA Cup and finishing 4th is better than winning Sweet FA and finishing 7th. And, what's more, I dare say Arsenal would have done the double and won the PL last season IF we had RVP (or any additional proper striker) in the team. The irony abounds. The Dutchman can fuck off.

well, the shirt kinda looks like the Arsenal one, with those white bands on the sleeves. Maybe he doesn't feel that different.

If you had to name one star player that never really amounted to much, who would you name? For me, it has to be Ronaldinho. I don't doubt that he is the most technically gifted player of his generation, but his influence was short lived and petered out. Fancy tricks and flicks are nice, but they can only achieve so much. Compared to Messi, Ronaldhino looks so ineffective. Kaka never realized his full potential either. Which brings me on to my next point: Do you think we'll ever see a better player than Messi? Obviously, the answer is "Yes" by looking at past trends, but the mind boggles. First it was Henry, surely no one could get better than Henry. Then it switched to Ronaldhino, surely no one could get better than Ronaldinho. But now there's Messi - a combination of Ronaldinho's trickery and Henry's prolific ability. The stats for Messi are beyond incredible. The goals/games ratio is unbelievable: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lionel_Messi#ClubI just can't fathom how someone will be better than him. But, as so often is the case, more will be revealed.....

Messi is an amazing player. Not fit to lace Maradonnas baits though.

Ronaldinho arrived at a completely lost club and made it champion of Europe and got some leagues. He's the first stone of best Barcelona ever.
Cristiano has more goals than matches in Real Madrid. He's a beast, but doesn't have the beautiful game of Zizou. And no one else, no fecking player, has scored such a difficult and awesome goal to win the big ears cup.

You cannot simply say no to play for man united! Still one of the biggest clubs in the world. Any player that did is always "what if..." And "if he had signed he would of won/been part of..." He did have a poor World Cup by his standards but with Louis in charge now I think we'll see 2 superb years out of RvP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
