Matt, check our first goal from yesterday: Shed Rule Ya Bass
that is not dire football. That is fantastic, I could watch that all day, this is what Scottish football is meant to be like. Me saying Scottish football is 'dire' is a bit of an overstatement if I'm honest, I look at it far too much in the context of Celtic and Rangers who are contributing nothing to Scottish football I feel. What have Dundee Utd done to make their youth set up so good - there were a lot of youngsters playing in that match yesterday? I know its a long shot, but I hope they get 2nd, and fingers crossed in the cup final also. Google "Ian Cathro". Dundee United have always had a decent youth setup but they've had a lot of younger players coming through this season. Funny to think that one of the reasons Peter Houston left them was that he didn't think the youth players were good enough to come into the first team. Quite a lot of Scottish clubs, particularly in the lower leagues, are using their youth system's often now. Both Falkirk and Hamilton are challenging for the 1st division with squads featuring a lot of players who've been brought through their youth setup's. I support Airdrie and yesterday we had 5 players starting who've came from our under 19s and another 3 on the bench, and it's similar for other teams in our league. That's because you have a good Dundee lad who is also a big Arab in charge now!

I think united made a mistake Nd this is exactly what's wrong with big money sports , David moyes know matter how you feel about his tactics got fucked .... The man brought Everton to a legit euro threat year after year , his tactics were fine , Sir Alex first season had it been now woulda got sacked Chuck Noel had 4 losing seasons in Pittsburgh til they got there drafts together and became a legend Al arbour in hockey was laughingstock with the islanders his first few seasons and is one regarded as one of the top 3 coaches ever Those are just a few examples all those guys stayed with the team that they sucked with in first year or first few yearsx
I'm not saying moyes will be a legend at end of day ....but he deserved more that a season ( not even ). It's what is wrong with results now sports with this new money .....

Just watched 2 documentaries into the wee hours of the morning on YouTube - it's amazing what you can find on there when you know how to use the search properly.
1. BBC's Panorama - Hillsborough: How They Buried the Truth
I obviously knew about Hillsborough, as well as the surface issues surrounding it, but never really bothered becoming properly informed until now. Suffice it to say, what an utter disgrace by the Yorkshire police and everyone who was blatantly involved in the cover up.
2. Keane and Vieira: Best of Enemies
This was absolutely fascinating, and it was able to be so because it was candid and didn't come across as scripted. The side show was telling, though, Keane is still really hurt by SAF, and he can deny it all he wants, but you know deep down he's so hurt by that relationship, he wishes it was different. It was actually depressing seeing him have so much contempt for a manager who gave him so much, and the reverse holds true, too.
In any case, ITV needs to do more of these. They did an excellent 30min one on Ian Wright that I watched the other month which was also equally well done and actually had some powerful moments.

So does anybody feel sorry for Hamilton in the Scottish Championship?
They needed to win by 8 goals and rely on Dumbarton to draw with Dundee.
So, Hamilton win 10-2 (as you do) and Dundee win 2-1.
Felt so sorry for them!

Felt so sorry for them! It was an incredible result for Hamilton which should give them a lot of confidence going into the play-offs. Wouldn't be surprised to see them win the play-offs, think one of the championship teams will get promoted anyway as they'll have much more momentum than the premier league team.

I'm putting this here, because the Prem thread (Read: Discussing Liverpool's Lack of Bottle) doesn't need this distraction. BUT:
If Arsene was successful in signing Suarez last summer, instead of his 1 quid over the clause (Have we ever figured out what the fuck actually happened there?), I dare say Arsenal would have been champions. Seriously.
Wenger is a tit for letting the best chance of winning the league slip. Hell, fuck Suarez, he even had a chance to make up for that in January, but he fucked around then, too.
At least we lost it in mid-season and not with 2 matches to go. Liverpool fans must be in such agony. But we were so close, too. And won't finish that far off, as evidence to what should have been.

Look what I just unearthed (the second video). Seriously, YouTube is a goldmine when you know how to use it. The guy's channel: www.youtube.com/user/xBackoftheNetx/videos1997/98 was the first full season I followed from start to finish (I remember watching bits from the 1996/97 season, especially recall that Liverpool match at Highbury when Fowler told the referee Seaman didn't bring him down, see below - YouTube strikes again) and what a season it was for The Arsenal. It's still my favorite, even though the Invincibles played far superior football. The way they overturned that point deficit, and went on 10 straight victories, including the famous 1-0 at Old Trafford, and Alex Manninger performing heroics in goal. It was such a special season.
