Anyone know where Del Piero signed or has retired (Reason #464 I want to punch Graham Arnold) He hasn't signed for anyone yet, but for what I know he still wants to play, he'll find a team

Im sad he left but I don't blame him.. Yeah but leaving on the 15 July...it doesn't make any sense... I have to say I'm happy about it tho, with Juventus that could be affected by this, let's hope it's finally our time to win the league,it's been 13 years since the last one,we need to do it again!

Ye the timing was bad but Marotta needs to sort his shit out..Iturbe and Morata aren't going to change anything. We could have signed Sanchez instead

Totti's a legend, one of the very very few left.
Theres Totti, Del Piero, Gerrard, Ronaldinho and not too many others left
Would have liked to have seen him with the Italian team tbh

I think he did considering his injuries..one of liverpools best strikers and could have been the best in the world had he not gotten injured

Here's one fer yer: Do you think Michael Owen fulfilled his potential? Think he came up short cause of injuries ........ But even at best he's no FOWLER ... wasn't the natural goal scorer what some here don't understand ....he would score as many goals but he needed 3 times the chances to do so ...his pace allowed for that ..... Fowler just needed one touch

Here's one fer yer: Do you think Michael Owen fulfilled his potential? Sadly not, injuries ruined a potentially very long career. He was hellishly good back when he was 21, so I think he 'peaked' but he never sustained it. Liverpool relied far too much on him back in the day, and considering he was so young and the physical demands of the Premier League, that undoubtedly took its toll years later. Moving to Newcastle was a big mistake - I hear they had massive problems with their training regime which ruined players (Alan Shearer himself had his fair share) so ideally, he should have stayed in Spain. Perhaps not at Madrid, but another club would easily have taken him up. The leagues abroad don't quite put so much strain on the body like in England so he would have been fine I think. A real shame, I was a big fan of him, and unlike England players today, if you gave him just ONE chance, he would have taken it. In my lifetime (born in 1990) easily the best player England ever had in terms of performances because he would score against the big teams and not just minnows (like Rooney). NOTE: I would say Scholes is the best English player of my generation, but wouldn't say for England as backward managers like Sven didn't know what to do with him.

Thoughts on Van Gaal?
Can't wait for him - I'm actually a big fan of the man. His Ajax team 20 years ago was legendary, and I sure as hell hopes he doesn't tone down his press conferences in England. I hear they are pretty fiery.
It would be great if he got the United youth system up and running again, and with his coaching expertise, I think he's going to do well with United.
I would give him time though - his methods require patience as seen at previous clubs, but he gets the job done nonetheless. The league may be a stretch this year, but top 4 would be a success.

Need a commanding center back and his wing backs tacticts will work a treat imo. Such a big contrast between now and this time last year. United will be up there even wit the squad as it stands now. Although Rogers is a very good manager Suarez going is a huge loss, expect liverpool to go back to their inconsistencies of old. The major signing Lallana out for a while, injured in training. They won't be doing a "this doesn't slip" talk towards the end of the season this time around Drogba back at Chelsea, looks like Lukaku will be loaned out once more. Their season relies on Diego Costa. If he is on form they would be my favourite to win the league.

Louis van Gaal is a businessman in the football world. I'm sure he would have been a successfull director of a multi international company if he woudn't have been in footbaal world. He's the pain for media. Don't know if he still does, but in past he never answered if an interviewer asks him a question without calling him "Sir". But he made a golden history with Ajax and I have to admit that he's doen a great job with Oranje.

Roma will give Juve a better challenge this year imo..I can see the 18 point gap closing to around 4-5 points, but we'll still win the league

We'll see I guess, but its good to have roma back in the CL, i'll take them over Inter any day..

Yeah it's good to be back in the Champions League,I'm a bit worried about being in the fourth tier (?), I hope our group won't be too difficult, it would be nice to get to the round of 16
