So my friends wanted me to register for Taylor swift tickets in Munich and Gelsenkirchen just to have better odds at getting tickets and well well well who has 2x2 tickets for both shows now?  I DO. And now I could demand a fortune to sell those tickets to desperate teenies but I won’t cause I keep my word but i feel a strange power, like I’m a patriarch in the 14th century. Like a Taylor Swift ticket pimp 🚬 |

Call me a an old guy that’s lost the plot if you’d like, but she ain’t releasing tunes that people will look back on as masterpieces. Sure, The Beatles wrote basic love songs early on, but I don’t have to tell you what they morphed into. To compare them in anything other than worldwide popularity is asinine. She’s akin to Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc. Again, understandable for girls/young women, but if you’re queuing for tickets, camping out or screaming like a banshee at a Taylor Swift gig as a grown man, you probably don’t care much about anything other than modern, pop music that elicits minimal thought. That’s my take. Dislike it if you want. |

And no I don't care for her music, outside a few interesting tunes from 1989. And funny you mention about what the Beatles morphed into, cause that's exactly when the hate for them got even louder. No one is calling her Lennon-McCartney. Yet, there's a reason why she's still as massive as ever and didn't burn out like Spears or Backstreet Boys. There's a legitimate, transcendent sort of talent in her work, that may not be for me, but clearly exists. One that yeah, people worldwide will be talking about for decades. |

Taylor has her popularity in gay community, they really like her we are not getting back together vibe. and if there are girls listening, talking about her music and going to concert, sure boys will go for it, isn’t that easy?
Her new albums isn’t getting popularity in general public but still her seist is 70% earlier country+pop songs

All I can say is don’t fight this fight with with friends who love her 🚬 I agree in the sense that I don't think she'll ever be anywhere near them musically, but the thing is it's a fact that in terms of popularity and what she means to millenials/Gen Z, she IS bigger than The Beatles by quite some distance. It's literally the exact thing John was trying to get at with his 'more popular than jesus' remark. It's not that she's better than them (imo anyway), it's that she means more to younger people and is more relevant to the musical landscape *in this day and age* than The Beatles could ever be Oh and a genuine word of advice: listen to Folklore. I was a bit of a snob about her for years tbh but Folklore and Evermore are insane albums that really helped me appreciate her more. Red's great too |

had a few glasses of wine and took myself to see her concert movie on Sunday. artistic research as another female artist wondering what the best-selling tour of my lifetime (if not of all time) looked like. it was way better than it had any business being.
