If it was ten years ago, I'd agree with his complaints about not getting nominations because that first album is brilliant. But 2015? They've become a parody of their former selves I think.

This is why I can't take the band Kasabian serious anymore. They are working on a new album and make statements like this: "...new song ‘Put Your Life On It’ “as good as ‘Let It Be’".I now realize why so many people I knew growing up thought Oasis was a bunch of arrogant assholes. I'm seeing it first hand with Kasabian. At least Oasis had the songs..............for a little while...............................

Meh. I gave up on Kasabian since the steaming pile of shite that was their last album. Haven't listened to anything apart from Bow since it came out.

Bow is brilliant and I quite enjoy Stevie and the second half of Treat. The rest of the album is utter, utter crap. An unlistenable and frankly embarrassing (Eez-Eh anyone??) collection of songs.

Read the first pages and was wondering if people were not talking about Arctic Monkeys (minus the great debut, or great anything, for that matter hehe).
Seriously, Kasabain has had some very good tracks and some shitty fillers. Their first was good, the second quite decent, the third and fourth are their best and the last one was really poor. They are better bands out there but there are also a lot of worse...
Let's see how they go now.

If they play at Paradiso again, I'll be going for my 10th Kasabian gig.

But when I see that they're now releasing songs like Eez-eh as lead singles I really can't be bothered to listen to anything else they've ever done

Here is some news about the sixth album. Serge told Q Magazine recently that he’d written his best record yet.
“In May the record was done but I’d never had any time off so I thought, “You know what? I’m going to have the summer off for the first time in my life.”It was incredible. I got married, went on holiday for ages and just lived a bit. When I came back in September I decided to graffiti over everything. I’d done everything on an acoustic for the first time and had these beautiful, crafted tunes but started graffiting over the lot, just taking it to another level. I wrote another tune, which is incredible, and then two weeks ago I wrote one of the best tunes I’ve ever written.”
“[It’s called] Bless This Acid House. It’s a beauty. It’s a mad time, with what’s been happening – it felt like the world was caving in around me. But I felt that everyone had said enough, like everyone had had their say, so this tune is just pure positive energy. I went round my mate’s house and he’s got this [Jeremy Deller-designed] poster and I thought, ‘I love that’, so I wrote a tune about it, but now I’m finished.”
“I was listening to Nirvana, The Stooges – Funhouse and Raw Power, that’s what a guitar should sound like. ESG were key for me. [Album track] You’re In Love With A Psycho, a track called Looking For Some Action and one called 16 Blocks... they’ve all got that kind of groove, there's that sort of New York, late-’70s post punk thing going on. “There’s a tune…its working title is ‘Ill Ray (The King). Like, ‘Ray down the local’s not very well, he’s always ill, but he’s the king,’ you know? It sounds like Beastie Boys and Northern soul with a Justice kind of vibe. Pretty exciting, that. It’s a fighting song.” “I’m going to say he is a real person. Everyone knows a geezer with the ponytail and that sort of leather jacket slumped over in the pub. We all know that dude. Fucking hell, Ray! He’s the king!”
2016 seemed to be pretty tough for everyone but for Serge the past year was good: “It’s mad. I got married, Leicester City won the Premier League and I’ve written my best album yet. I was so deep in the studio and then having a good time, somehow it all passed me by. Like it was some weird acid hallucination that everyone else was having. I was like, “Nice one! I'm having a great time!”

Also Serge described a song from the new album Comeback Kid: “It has a bit of a mariachi feel and also there's a bit of Sly&The Family Stone in it as well.” Here is the track srf.ch/radio-srf-virus/songs-alben/song-zum-tag-kasabian-comeback-kidIt seems to me that this record will be much better than 48:13.. and i hope Serge will make up a 'normal' name for the album and realy cool album cover.

Kasabian has made some really good songs. But like many, I was extremely disappointed by their last effort, which (correct me if I'm wrong) was also referred to as their best album to date. So do I trust Serge when he's going on about how a song he wrote about a poster is an absolute masterpiece? Absolutely not. But I must say that my heart jumped a bit when I saw that he cited the Stooges as an inspiration for this album. Especially Funhouse is a personal favorite, and I really hope that he listened as closely as he could, cause then the new record will at least not be mediocre garbage. But it could of course also be the case that all he took away from listening to them was "let's just go fucking mental!", in which case I will give up on Kasabian yet again, a scenario wich I have already prepared myself for.

He also said his song "BumbleBee"*, which was Led Zeppelin meets the Beastie Boys as one of the best songs ever. It wasn't. * Yes that is the actual final title. Maybe the worst all time.

Speaking of titles, "You Are In Love With A Psycho"(mentioned in the article excerpt) is what someone would come up with as a fictional song title for a sketch parodying Kasabian.
