So far highlights for me from this album are: - Stevie - Explodes (Totally feels like a track from their debut) - Eez-Eh (This tune can get stuck in your head for days) - Bow Agree with those except Explodes which I think is abysmal. I'd add SPS in as well. Been warming to that quite a bit. That song is turning out to be their finest album closer to date.

There's something very George Harrison 'All Things Must Pass' about it. Which is a good thing obviously. I feel like I shouldn't like it but I'm finding 'Treat' infectious. Its totally ridiculous and yet there is something incredibly catchy about it. Needs an edit though and along comes Tom Wells , nice one mate.

I'm going to get crucified for this observation, but fuck it....
Bow is basically a generic Linkin Park song.

I've given this a few listens probably won't return to it. Maybe give it a another shot in a week but I honestly I can't think of a more consistently disappointing band.
Treat is probably the best song on it. It is fun and catchy but it also has a spazzy groove. This is the type of song that I want them to do more often. A nice balance of rock and electronica. SPS is a really good closer. Kasabian has some closers in their catalog. Happiness is one of their more underrated songs I think and The Doberman is one of the best on Empire.
Explodes has a couple moments but it doesn't have that much replay value. Bumblebeee (would be so much better with out the BA NUN NA chants, it really ruins a song). That song is probably the one of the most fully realized songs on the album in terms of structure, production, and melody, but it is just damn annoying in parts.
No doubt it will sound monster live. That's honestly one of the biggest reasons why they are so famous. They are a tremendous live band. Songs like Stevie, Eez-eh and Doomsday will sound better in a live context when you're jumping in a crowd with hundreds of people with a cup of beer in your hands but when I listen to them on headphones it's just a bit too mindless and empty for my tastes. Bumblebee will be one of their live staples for years to come. That song is made for a live setting. Serge isn't a good (pretty average honestly) songwriter and he nor Tom can really sing well. Songs/melody aren't Kasabian's strong suit but as a band they can bang and groove really well. They should just jam more and let their songs be born out of those jams. They might already do this but still Serge needs to take a step back and they should function more as a unit. I could see them becoming like an electronic rock version of RHCP.
If I had to rate this: 4/10

In my personal opinion, it is not a great album. some good songs, some normal and some poor. the single ehh ezz is practically equal to an Italian song dance of the 90s
stevie, clouds and treat for me are the best, bow, glass, eh ezz and doomsday are the worst there is not a song that can compare in beauty as a switchblade smiles and day are forgotten. the first 3 discs even consider because are of a higher level

The album cover is shite. The idea about the track lengths on it is good, but the execution with that vibrant pink color is just bad, but maybe it'll grow on me, I don't know.

The big rumours on twitter are that Damon Albarn, The Courteeners and the one and only Noely G will be the support.

Imagine a concert of Damon, Noel and Kasabian. Would already be a brilliant festival lineup regardless of who else is on the list

Can't see Noel and Damon doing it. Damon would be more likely as his album hasn't been out long bug don't think it would go down well with a Kasabian crowd. Noel would be a possibility if hid album was out but it's nog something hid management would normally do. Hope I'm wrong.
I read on a Leicester paper article that Tom said The Maccabees would be supporting. Nog bad, but not great. Same feelings towards The Courteeners too. Hoping it's not all unsigned Leicester bands. That would be shit.

How anyone doesnt like songs like 'Calafornia Daze' and 'Higher Than The Sun' is beyond me I think you must have those two bands mixed up. Drenge are wicked (saw them for the 5th time today), and Peace are lame. Can't see Noel and Damon doing it. Damon would be more likely as his album hasn't been out long bug don't think it would go down well with a Kasabian crowd. That would be shit. Anyone thought Noel might do it quite simply because he wants to do it? I fucking hope it's not The Maccabees though. I saw them support RHCP at Knebworth, and they're so fucking shit. The rumour going round, that is fairly reasonable, is Courteeners. Some of the unsigned bands they could get are good though. If you look at ones they know/have had before/are in, they have a decent selection... Kav, The Lysergic Suite, Modern Faces, Mic Rockers.
