Copy-pasting a list I made for another forum
My favourite by far is KT Tunstall's Invisible Empire/Crescent Moon Laura Marling's album, even though I wasn't impressed at first, it really grew on me. BE (if you include the bonus tracks, does that count?) Travis - Where You Stand Kings of Leon - Mechanical Bull Phosphorescent - Muchacho

Forgot to post mine in the original post: -BE -Miles Kane - Don't Forget Who You Are -Arctic Monkeys - AM -Frank Turner - Tape Deck Heart
...are the obvious ones to me. If this was the 90's then this would be a much longer thread.

Nothing about new Paul McCartney's album? :> With it being relatively "new" still (Hahaha), I haven't really heard through it enough to name it with the best of '13 but a good album nonetheless.

Here's my top albums in order.
-Albums I love and will get constant plays for a longtime FIDLAR-FIDLAR Smith Westerns-Soft Will Arctic Monkeys-AM (about on the same level as soft will) Cut Copy-Free Your Mind Phoenix-Bankrupt! Jagwar Ma-Howlin'
-Really great albums, just a notch below the ones above. Janelle Monae-The Electric Lady Unknown Mortal Orchestra-II Lady-Lady Kanye West-Yeezus Daft Punk-Random Access of Memories My Bloody Valentine-mbv No Joy-Wait to Pleasure Swearin'-Surfing Strange Toro Y Moi-Anything in Return
-Solid albums from bands that I really liked their earlier material Lovely Bad Things-The Late Great Whatever Cults-Static Still Corners-Strange Pleasures Yuck-Glow & Behold Best Coast-Fade Away
I still haven't spent enough time with it(played it about 8-10 times) but Arcade Fire's new album isn't really doing anything for me.

I was going to wait until December to do this but I think it is pretty safe this late into the year. No big releases left before the calendar flips to 2014. The year went by extremely fast in my opinion. Crazy. Ok, here we go.......................................... Top 10 Albums
01. Arcade Fire - Reflektor (A band in their absolute prime, always pushing their sound further) 02. The National - Trouble Will Find Me (The most consistent American band going these days. They sing for the working man) 03. Atoms For Peace - Amok (Thom Yorke's supergroup walks the walk) 04. Arctic Monkeys - AM (I was extremely impressed with this album's production and lyrics. Great job Alex Turner & company) 05. David Bowie - The Next Day (Bowie back with vengeance after an extended hiatus) 06. Deerhunter - Monomania (Another great, lo-fi album from the American indie scene) 07. Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires Of The City (I was down on their last album but this one's production was through the roof) 08. Queens of The Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork (Was never into this band before, friends kept pushing this LP, they were right!) 09. Cut Copy - Free Your Mind (The Hacienda is alive on this record. Noel Gallagher will love it) 10. Foxygen - We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic (The sounds of a great Wes Anderson movie not yet made) Top 10 Songs (I'll name only 1 per group/artist)
01. Arcade Fire - Afterlife (Arcade Fire embrace their inner New Order) 02. Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? 03. Atoms For Peace - Ingenue (A very sexy tune) 04. The National - Sea of Love 05. Beady Eye - Flick of The Finger (Probably the best track Beady Eye have created yet! This song has swagger) 06. David Bowie - The Stars (Are Out Tonight) 07. Vampire Weekend - Diane Young (Love all the different vocal tics and delivery in this track) 08. Queens of The Stone Age - If I Had A Tail (Reminds me of a David Bowie song) 09. Sigur Ros - Rafstraumur (Few bands do anthemic tunes better than Sigur Ros) 10. Daft Punk - Get Lucky (A song that will be played at every club & wedding until the end of time)

BE and the Travis album for me. The Bowie album was pretty good too but could have used a little pruning at times.
I don't go digging around for new music ony because I dont have time to keep up with it all. I mostly jsut listen to bands I really like and if something new comes at me, then I enjoy it but chances are, it will be new to me just not 'new music' (ie gordon lightfoot, roy orbison)
