I haven't listened to The Dying Of The Light since shortly after it leaked (in an attempt to forget it so it's fresh again when a studio version is eventually released) but I can still hear it perfectly as if I had heard it an hour ago. Damn it anyway. It's going to be special.
The Dying of The Light Don't Stop The Happening Just Let It Come Down Over Me
will all hopefully be on there

I felt like they did too much of that on "If I Had A Gun". It should remain more simplistic if that makes sense. Song works so well in soundcheck. I expect HFB2 to be extremely safe creatively which is a tad disappointing but I do expect an enjoyable album. So I guess we all win.

The Dying of the Light has to be on the album but as Lennon points out the simpler the better, it's that kind of tune for me.
We know Noel has had a wee run at The Dying of the Light during the High Flying Birds sessions as you can hear a segment of it on the DVD documentary which came with the album.
I've already said I'd love to hear Noel work with James Lavelle and the other UNKLE boys again but that won't happen unless it's remixes again. Again I agree with Lennon, it'll be a safe attitude once again.

Whilst I love the simplicity of the sound check version, the album version is epic. I can't imagine that song without the strings anymore. So it can be good if done correctly. But it would be perfect just as it is.

I feel like the production on "If I Had a Gun" was massacred, to be honest. I loved the simplicity and rawness of the soundcheck we heard 5 years ago. Then on the album it was converted into a "stadium rock" song and I hated it. To this day I can't listen to the album version...it's so watered down.

Can't even imagine this track with any instrument other than an acoustic guitar. It needs to be very quiet intimate to impart the type of connection the song is meant for. An unusually knowledgeable response there!...Agreed. Holy shit, I didnt even know of the existance of that song. I just listened to it on youtube and got those kind of spine-tingles you get with the 90s Oasis stuff. Very "up". He fucking needs to record and release this

I do however strongly believe Noel should have been doing an acoustic version of this during his mini/radio acoustic gigs on the tour. I consider it another Gallagher brother missed opportunity.

I really want The Dying Of The Light to appear unchanged.
I love the guitar sound on it, really spot-on. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it as much if it was changed, the demo version appeals too much to me.

I really hope a new album emerges in 2014. Please Noel, pretty please!

I have confidence in Noel's ability to make a good album track-list so I don't mind, but if it had Freaky Teeth and The Dying of The Light on there, it would make it even more special for me.

I reckon we'll have to wait till 2015. Hope there won' t be any leaks or another soundchecks, I don' t know...it spoils the album If I know 3 outta 10 songs. Btw, Am I the only one that thinks DVD from 02 is a bit soulless? I mean, I' ve been there, the gig was all right, but never bothered to watch it again.

I'm hoping both those tracks are on the album but Freak Teeth is now ancient at this point. Written in 2008, demoed during 2011, finally getting an official release in 2015. Wow, what a journey. I guess that is nothing compared to Stop The Clocks and Record Machine though. Noel will deliver the goods, always has. I just wish he would be a little more experimental.

Can I be as bold to say that he already has been experimental? The Death of You and Me and a few others I see as being quite experimental from Noel, and its paid off nicely. To be honest, I'm quite glad the album with Amorphous Androgynous never came to fruition, I think it might be a step in the wrong direction for Noely G. But that's just me

But that's just me When Noel had his long awaited press conference in July of 2011, I was more excited for the AA album than the eventual HFB one. I wanted Noel to push himself. He's got the talent. We know he can deliver albums like HFB until he's old and gray. Let's see him really try something new. Look at Damon Albarn and all his side projects. So much fun. Noel could be the same, if he wanted it to be so.

Maybe some more stuff with the Chemical Brothers?

He does rock, harder rock, country, electronic, concept albums, soundtracks, etc. He doesn't care what the critics and fans think. He records and releases. I wish some of this would rub off on Noel. He's already 46 years old. Let the music keep pouring out in my opinion. Oasis really slowed down between 2000 and 2009. Noel has a similar trend going in his solo career. I applaud Beady Eye for seemingly always wanting to be busy. That is good for music.

Well we already have The Masterplan for b-sides between 1994-1998. You can always throw all the post 2000 b-sides on a CD and burn it if you wanted. I'm ok with no second b-sides album. A complete collection of b-sides might be something worth looking into. Smashing Pumpkins did this several years/decade back. Very popular release for their fans.

No more b-side compilations please!
With all the singles, The Masterplan, Stop The Clocks and Time Flies I'm sick of buying the same songs twice now.
If Oasis release anything else it should be a proper rareities compilation, all unreleased material.

Why is everyone so confident that Revolution Song will be on the album, has Noel indicated anything to suggest this? I think I read an article about a year ago with Noel saying he was going to have it on the next album. I might try to go find it.
