I'm really quite bored of the games that have been released this year so far. Uncharted was the highlight but even that was the same tried and tested formula. Last year, only MGS 5 was really great. I'm looking forward to No Man Sky and The Last Guardian but overall, things feel very stale. I highly recommend Doom if you've not played it, lot of places got it cheap at mo (or they did) Best game of the year for me so far.

Anyone else find it concerning the amount of 'remastered' games and reboots we're getting these days? I'm not saying that remaking or rebooting classic titles that people love is a bad thing, but I just think that it's becoming way too commonplace among developers. I'd personally much rather see something new and creative, rather than a "remaster" of a game that isn't even 5 years old yet (talking about 'Skyrim: Special Edition'). Good to get young kids into games. I got a 7 year old into N64 with emulator.

These days most AAA games are oversaturated with casual gameplay design that just bore me. I've been gaming since I was 3 and I'm not as actively excited game releases anymore, so I for sure play older games more often these days. As for newer releases I'm a RPG/Strategy guy so I've been playing alot of Dark Souls 3 and Witcher 3.

I miss the old Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda, they were loads of fun and full of great gameplay. I also loved FFVII and the Metal Gear series. A lot of the new games these days I find a chore to play with only a few a year I really enjoy, the rehashed yearly COD stuff is just awful.

I find the whole No Man's Sky fiasco quietly amusing. With all of the enormous hype (largely generated by the internet rather than the devs themselves!!), multiple delays and huge promises from the developers it was basically inevitable that the game was going to disappoint.
Quite fascinating how quickly everything has already changed from complete overhyping madness to a full-on witch hunt, all in the space of a few days.
For those who aren't aware, it seems that the developers basically lied about the game being multiplayer as they foolishly believed that the game universe was so large that it wasn't likely that 2 players would ever cross paths anyway.

Ive been following this for a couple of years now, think its going to be a long time though, you look at what theyve rendered and they still have a lot left to do as well create the story and characters etc, they are a small team. this is interesting if you want to check it out, they have created a full length sinking animation using the game engine and if you play their podcast along with it they talk through the sinking timeline of events and how they have created the animations etc, (they tell you when to start the video) very interesting if youve got nearly 3 hours spare. www.titanichg.com/archives/

Took me forever to find some zinc, needed 20 and first bit found was only 17 😬😬 which was very annoying

I'm still planning on probably getting it in the January sales just to see what all the fuss was about as I found the concept of it very exciting, don't really fancy paying the full price for it though with all the backlash it's been getting.

This looks absolutely abysmal. this is good tbh. because call of duty has sat at the top of the tree for too long and has got lazy with no evolution, they are using call of duty 4 to support this shit this year so will probably save themselves some serious loses due to the remaster but it now means they either have to step up their game in a HUGE way next year or pack up and go home. you look at how great the concept is for battlefield this year and how amazing the actually game looks and it just shows that call of duty is out of touch. Im sure COD 4 will get its own release as its easy money but its the only cod game I will be getting.

The devs lied about so many things, maybe the game they had in their mind was what they talked about, but the best guess is they were forced to release it by higher ups at its current state which lacks many things. <-Click there for a large essay about what the game was supposed to haveI think for the opening hours of the game you'll enjoy yourself but shortly afterwards you'll see the entire game is a grindfest and endless repetitiveness until the disappointing ending.

What they should have done was released it at the same price point as Minecraft (around £16) and continually updated it until it was finished. But this is 2016 so obviously they rushed it out way before they'd finished it and released it at full price £45 without admitting to the player base that the game had a ridiculous amount of missing features. I started to get a bad feeling when I found out that they were deliberately holding back review copies of the game and the developers were basically begging people to ignore leaked footage from people who had gotten the game early. I thought that was very suspicious and obviously we all know now why they did it. At the end of the day, their goal is to make money and they've managed to make tons of it off this mess, while completely destroying their reputation at the same time.

Announce Red Dead you pricks! I don't play much video games these days for some reason (I haven't got bored, I just haven't really kept on top of it all) but if ever there was a game to get me to buy a PS4 and HD television, this is the one. Red Dead Redemption is arguably the greatest game I've ever played - for me, it probably just edges GTA San Andreas which is an unbelievable thing to say considering just how great that game is. Certainly had the greatest story to it and really grabbed me emotionally, great music, it had the best character ever (John Marston) and was actually pretty fascinating from a historical point of view in its depiction of the Old West (very foreboding and brooding atmosphere throughout the game). I hope this one is a prequel - high possibility it will be considering Redemption was set during the end of the wild west era. It would be cool if it was still John Marston and we found out a little bit more about him too.

I must confess, I never actually got through all of Red Dead. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was brilliant, and was absolutely transfixed by it for a while, but I was already at the point, with video games, where I was finding it hard to motivate myself to sit down and play for any real length of time. (First world problems, eh?) And then like anything, it got to the point where I hadn't played it for so long, I'd forgotten what happened in the bit I played, and who John Marston was, and all the rest of it.
Now I've no longer got the 360 I played it on - I've got a PS4 now - I only hope they do what South Park have done with their new game: enclose a copy of the original, for everyone who preorders the new one.
