Trailer really gave us nothing to work with, more like a graphics engine showcase. The 2009 teaser of Red Dead Redemption and 2011 teaser of GTA 5 gave us a good idea of what to expect.

Bought Skyrim remastered and the Bioshock collection at the weekend. Never played Skyrim first time around so looking to get stuck into that. Fuck knows when I'm ever going to have time to play all these though, working full time is shite.

Fuck knows when I'm ever going to have time to play all these though, working full time is shite. I almost bought battlefield 1 last week but couldnt be bothered, with the amount I play games nowadays its not worth spending £42 on, Ive been so disappointed with the last few games I bought on release as well, just got to a point where its easier for me to wait until its cheaper then at least if its not that great Ive only spent half the money on it. plus as much as these remastered games intrigue me, I always feel slightly annoyed that they tidy it up abit then charge full price for it again, not to mention the shady tactics of activision bundling in COD 4 just to shift their new game, cant be doing with it. when they released minecraft on the xbox one, they charged people a reduced rate if you already have it on 360 which should be the case for the remasters imo because you already own it, the remaster is merely an update to an old game, I mean it shouldnt matter anyway, the game is X amount of years old anyway, it should be cheaper, they would still make some easy money off something thats already had its shelf life.

I've talked about simracing a few times on this forum so I decided to show a few of my videos which I recorded couple of years ago. This is from Live For Speed which I've played most (probably 95% of all racing games). That's a demo track and car which means it's a VERY popular combination because it's free to drive. World Record laptime is 1:11.66, driven by a Polish driver who died in a car crash almost 3 years ago (I knew him quite well). That video is quite old so I could probably do 1:11.7x time nowadays. This is from iRacing, which is the biggest and most competitive simracing game right now (and has been many years). I haven't played it that much because it's VERY expensive. There are monthly subscription fees and you have to buy almost every track and car for about $15 and $10. All the best drivers are there and many people left Live For Speed because of that game. There are quite big prizes in pro leagues (+$10k) and that game attracts sponsors too. I once thought about "going pro" but I realised it's too much work and money to reach it. I was confident I have the skills, though. Anyway, that's a funny video about crash physics Third vid is from Assetto Corsa. It's quite popular right now because it was released on consoles recently. I recorded it 2 years ago when it was still in beta version on Steam. The game had very big hype and it's been popular since its beta release. I think it's a good game, especially single player but multiplayer side reminds me of Gran Turismo which is a bad thing. That lap was 3rd fastest of ~1000 people when I recorded it. I think the physics have changed nowadays and now that laptime would be impossible actually.

Last Sunday morning I scored one of those Nintendo NES Classic consoles. It felt like winning the Super Bowl.

After being a COD player for years Ive finally moved to Battlefield. Battlefield 1 is so much better than any COD for the last 5 years. It all went down hill when they did 'futuristic' games.

problem is the people who made call of duty 4 left I believe and created sledghammer games which created the titanfall games, then infinity ward etc just carried on the same formula without much evolution because people were still buying into it, its just got ridiculous now, its lost all its charm.
I remember the hype for modern warfare 2 and I was one of the people who was just playing it thinking "this is the exact same game"
I remember playing ghosts and ran past a mattress propped against the wall, it was the exact same mattress I ran past a million times on crossfire on COD 4, this was supposed to be next gen and they were still recycling textures and animations from a game created near the start of the xbox 360s life 6/7 years prior, its embarrassing for them that people were more excited for a decade old game remastered than their new game and its even more sneaky to lock that off behind their new game just to help it sell, you still cant buy cod 4 on its own.
havnt touched another call of duty game since ghosts, Im kind of interested in what they will do next year though as its clear they will have to do something drastic to bring people back.

Call of Duty hasn't been good since World at War and the other subsequent WW2 installments. That was CoD at its best: a detailed WW2 shooter series. I enjoyed Black Ops though.

I enjoyed Black Ops though. black ops was a mess imo, that was the point when it started to become call of duty: james bond, think Id draw the line there of it really falling to pieces but yea it was ok, dont think the zombies mode was anything near WAW though.

Any of you ever design a game? If programming sprite-based little flash games in High School counts, yup

I enjoyed the cinematic aspect it took, felt refreshing and not overdone. Unfortunately it highlighted many scripted moments and removed a sense of immersion. This video shows how scripted much of the campaign really was:

Fun Fact: Over 20,000 lines of dialogue were recorded in total for the US, Russian, German and British sides.

glider or anyone else... As a matter of education I recently built a simple game in HTML5/Javascript... Any suggestion of how I should put this out online? Just upload it to my website? Upload to some other gaming community? Any thought would be greatly appreciated. (Again, this is not some kind of super polished thing at all. Just an old school platformer type thing. Simple graphics and game mechanics.)

I haven't done much HTML/Javascript stuff lately but did a quick search online and says you can upload it to cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. www.scirra.com/tutorials/655/tips-on-publishing-html5-games-to-the-web

A week late but it seems our discussion about CoD earlier forshadowed a return to form I guess.
Can't say I'm not intrigued but getting back to the World War 2 era is what the series needed. I'll have to see what the game brings to the table but I'm absolutely not excited nor anticipating it - especially with the modern day corporate tripe that is Activision.

It was a simple side thing really. Thanks for the response.

gliderI uploaded the game to my personal website for the time being. Most likely it will end up somewhere else that better facilitates feedback. Anyhow... here it is... (I know it works fine on the most up-to-date version of Chrome... everything else... who knows) SuperBallStars

Thanks for the kind words. If you click the CREDITS link at the bottom left of the home screen there is a link to the site where I got the 8-bit (midi) tunes. The site has thousands of songs across all genres. Be warned... not all tracks on there are created equal. Some are terrible frankly.
