Sorry but "BE" is not that good. Listened about 10 times now. I want to like it, and keep listening to it, but I can't. I am bored already. In the past I was very excited to share any Gallagher composed music to friends. Even "The Roller". Not this stuff. The only song I have shared is "Second Bite of the Apple" My opinion best song on the album. When I heard that I was hoping for more like it. But instead I got the "same old" liam re·gur·gi·tat·ed...Wow this is from the dictionary... To cause to pour back, especially to cast up (partially digested food) We need Noel's melodies + Liam's vocal. I hope it happens again. If a new Oasis album was to be written entirely by Noel, then I'd look forward to it. But if Oasis were to get back together, I'd really like to see something different by them. Some folk say fans were happy with the same old tunes every album with Oasis, but I can't help feeling that many were becoming disillusioned by the lack of any steps forward in terms of music. I can't be arsed waiting 3-4 years for an album with only 5-6 decent tunes which was every Oasis album post-2000. Shit way to treat hardcore fans in my opinion.

If they get back together I want an 11 track album written by noel with about 9 of them sung by Liam. If that's not the case then I'm happy to continue with Beady Eye and The High Flying Birds.

1.WTSMG 2.BHN 3.DM 4.BE 5.DBTT 6.SOTSOG 7.HC 8.DOYS 9.NGHFB 10.DGSS NGHFB has quality songs, but for me is soooo boring. Bass, guitar and drums are sooooo standard. And DGSS is the weakest collection of songs for me.

I don't think it's fair comparing LAG Beady Eye or LAG Oasis with WTSMG, DM, BHN, or SOTSOG because they represent a very different chapter of the Oasis/Gallagher musical story and since it has already been done at length in this thread I will give it a shot without including those albums:
1. DOYS 2. DBTT 3. BE 4. DGSS 5. HC 6. NHFB
Depending on the day my feelings on this list could change. Personally I have enjoyed every release from the original Oasis line ups, the Andy and Gem Oasis line ups, and everything post Oasis from Beady Eye and Noel.
I would say that NHFB is the album I listen to the least, but I still like it. I also really liked DGSS - I didnt think it was a masterpiece by any means but it was a solid effort with some really great songs. I believe BE is on another level similar to the DBTT Oasis sound with some additional production touches from Sitek that make it awesome. It sounds like Oasis, it may be missing Noel but it is right in line with the songs we heard LAG producing with Oasis prior to the breakup with a couple new twists. I put DBTT slightly ahead of it because of Noels work on that album.
Finally, I really loved DOYS and the direction the group was going in. Again, not a perfect album but something I really got into and I couldn't wait to see what the group came up with next. It is unfortunate that they broke up but we have benefited from a lot of new music from both camps and I feel like BE is a natural progression from the DBTT/DOYS Oasis - more in line with what I was expecting from DGSS prior to its release. It is a great album.
I am just happy to get another solid release from my favorite musicians.

1. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - One of the best musical albums, period. Every song and every b-side from this period would be a hit for any other musical act of the time. For a time, this album directly influenced the sound of many British rock bands. Wonderwall, considered by many fans to be one of the worst on the album, is one of the most recognizable songs worldwide. I don't think there's really another choice for #1.
2. Definitely Maybe - One of the best debut albums by any rock band. Propelled the band to international superstardom. Should have spawned five singles, it was THAT good. This is the perfect album of the underclass and anyone can relate to it, except the super-rich and the elite.
3. The Masterplan - A b-side album from Oasis is better than the best a-side album of most bands. Pretty much every song is from the DM or WTSMG era and many are almost as good as the album tracks. There's a reason why most of these were originally b-sides, but this is a nearly perfect album for a fan.
4. Be Here Now - Production was terrible and the album is far too long, but that doesn't take away from the fact that there are many great tunes. Oasis would have remained at the top of the music world for far longer if this album was produced in the same style as WTSMG and if they didn't feel the need to let songs drag on for twice as long as they should have. This album was overhyped and any album, even WTSMG would have been a letdown after all that.
5. BE - Maybe a little high, but this is my honest feeling. Sure the lyrics aren't the best in places, but this album is full of highlights. Liam's vocals are much improved from DGSS, Chris Sharrock's drumming stands out, there are some nice solos, and of course Dave Sitek gave the best production EVER for any Gallagher album. We'll see how I think of this after time passes, but so far it's only grown on me and I don't expect that to stop. The bonus tracks easily could have been album tracks. This record would have NEVER been put out by Oasis, so at least some good has come out of the breakup, I suppose.
6. Don't Believe the Truth - A much needed record after SOTSOG and HC. Reminded the world that Oasis was still the top rock band out there. Features Andy and Gem's best songs. Liam's vocals were a bit spotty in places and should have been re-recorded.
7. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants - I love this album, but it's hard to place it much higher. Only 10 tracks, and several of those are filler. Given the strength of the b-sides from the SOTSOG singles, this is really inexcusable. Also, picking the two Noel-sung tracks as single was really dumb. I like Sunday Morning Call, but that should not have been a single.
8. Dig Out Your Soul - When it's good it's great, when it's bad it's terrible. Two of the three Noel-sung tracks were garbage and Gem and Andy's contributions were snoozers. Two of the Liam-written songs were definitely filler, while Boy With the Blues and I Believe in All were inexplicably (aside from Noel's massive ego) left off. Falling Down, I'm Outta Time, and all the Noel-written/Liam-sung tracks were great though.
9. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - This album shows his songwriting is still as good as ever. However, Liam's vocals were sorely missed on several songs (If I Had a Gun, Record Machine most notably) that obviously suited his voice better, and the production was pretty terrible.
10. Different Gear, Still Speeding - The only thing "speeding" about this album was our ears back to the 1960s. Worst production on any Gallagher by far severely takes away from the fact that there are indeed good tunes on the album. Many of the songs sounded great live, but at the same time the sound guys on tour didn't seem to know what they were doing half the time.
11. Heathen Chemistry - I honestly like this album, but at the same time it sounds incredibly bland to me. Another case where pure filler (She is Love, Force of Nature, A Quick Peep, Better Man) was placed on the album, and some GREAT b-sides (Idler's Dream, Shout it Out Loud), were left off. Hey, even Thank You for the Good Times was better than a lot of the album tracks.

1. Definitely Maybe 1. Morning Glory - I don't think I'll ever decide which one is better, because they are both pretty much perfect and some of the best albums of all time. 3. Be Here Now - I still love it, it's overproduced as hell but the tunes are there, as is the attitude. 4. The Masterplan - If we count this as an album, it has a lot of amazing early Oasis tunes and isn't much worse than the first two albums. 5. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - the sheer quality of the songwriting makes this. There is not a single weak song on it - which can't be said about the later Oasis albums. 5. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants - I'd rank it above HFB if it weren't for 2-3 below average songs (we all know which ones) that cancel out the wonderful highlights a bit. Still as enjoyable as HFB to me.
7. Dig Out Your Soul - The first half of the album is pretty much top 3 material, then it gets so much worse. 7. BE - for now, I won't decide between BE and DOYS. I prefer DOYS' stronger songs, while BE has better filler. If we count Evil Eye, Worlds Not Set In Stone and Off at the Next Exit, I'd rank it above DOYS and maybe SOTSOG in a heartbeat...but they're not on the album.
9. Don't Believe the Truth - most of the LAG songs still fall pretty flat for me. Noel's songs are good, I like Keep the Dream Alive and GGTIA, that's pretty much it. 10. Different Gear, Still Speeding - it's still fun to listen to, but musically, it's nothing new. Plus there are a few terrible songs on it that make it hard to listen to the full album. 11. Heathen Chemistry - This, DGSS and DBTT are about the same level for me. All have some highlights, all have filler, all have bad stuff. HC has the most bad stuff though.

God bless.

Even more with every listen. But I guess it makes sense for you that you don't like BE. Thankfully for me the rest of the tracks don't sound like that. To each their own I suppose. We need Noel's melodies + Liam's vocal. I hope it happens again. I won't argue with that one, though

1. WTSMG Hard to look past this album as the best ever... Most songs are 10s, the rest are 9s.
2. Be Here Now ...although I feel stronger for BHN with its fantastic production and enormous songs. 72 minutes of sonic onslaught. Wonderful.
3. Definitely Maybe The third best album ever, but I prefer the sound of its two predecessors. It feels so pure and sincere though. And it has Live Forever, the best song ever written.
4. Dig Out Your Soul Honestly I could've just as well taken any of the other three 00s album as #4. DOYS first five tracks decides. I like the Revolver vibe. But why on earth are GOYHHL and TNR on the album???
5. Heathen Chemistry The Hindu Times is one of my favourite songs. A fun album, but a bit uneven. But if I had heard middle-rated songs like HIABP, PAITM and BOADC for the first time today? I would've loved them as much as I love IJS, SCT and IR from BE today.
6. SOTSOG An autumn day without the rays of sunshine that are Oasis 30 best songs - except Go Let It Out. But it's a very good unit of songs.
7. Don't Believe The Truth I pick it as #7 because it's too stripped-down for me. But a great album of course. Don't really care about a couple of the songs though and only Lyla (and maybe TUTS) is stellar.
8. BE We are rating the album, so unfortunately the bonus tracks aren't counted in this ranking. Time will tell if it has any chance to beat an Oasis record on this ranking. No track feels really weak - a nice change. Lacks Noel's masterplans of songs.
9. DGSS I really loved this album when it came out. The best thing about this album is that it felt like joy was back for real in the band. It has its limitations in song quality and feeling of unity, but I like the retro vibe. But the songs doesn't age so well. Lacks Noel songs. But perhaps the best Noelrock album ever?
10. NGHFB Like many people have said - great songs but boring production and no Liam singing. The first four tracks still sound really good, though.

Didn't include The Masterplan in mine as it's not a 'proper' album only being made up of already released b sides, but saying that when judged pound for pound against the rest, it has a very strong case of being maybe the best album they ever released IMO, its just filled with classic tracks.
