I still don't get the hype over this pretentious monstrosity from this forum. I don't get this album at all. It's pretentious, it's bloated, it has absolutely nothing to say. . They heard me singing and they told me to stop Quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock These days my life, I feel it has no purpose But late at night the feelings swim to the surface 'Cause on the surface the city lights shine They're calling at me, come and find your kind Sometimes I wonder if the World's so small That we can never get away from the sprawl Living in the sprawl Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains And there's no end in sight I need the darkness, someone please cut the lights

Here is the full set. Unfortunately its not as good as the other night in chile. That night was crazy. Wins voice isnt as good and neither is the mix. He also seems a little moody.

Win Butler on Kurt Cobain. Like Armstrong, Win Butler was moved when he first heard "Nevermind" in 1991. So was everyone in the Arcade Fire frontman's world growing up in Texas.
"All the sudden the whole kind of social dynamic at my junior high changed where these kind of misfit kids who maybe come from a broken home and they're smoking cigarettes in the back and they didn't have money for nice clothes, all the sudden those kids socially were in a weird way on the same level as everyone else," Butler said. "I was sort of like a weird kid who didn't know where I fit in or whatever and just to have that kind of voice be that big in culture, I feel like that was a magical period of alternative music where we had Jane's Addiction and R.E.M. and Nirvana, it was like seeing these kind of freaks from all the different cities of North America and you're like, oh wow."
Butler still takes cues from Cobain and Nirvana. After winning the 2010 Grammy Award for album of the year, Butler and his band delivered a completely unexpected follow-up album last year that ignored the lure of pop possibilities — much like Nirvana did when it recorded the band's final album, the polarizing "In Utero," in 1993.
"Imagine Nirvana having the biggest record in the world and spending nine days and coming back with this super-raw album with pretty acoustic songs and crazy metal songs," Butler said. "I don't know, just artistically 'In Utero' was a constant source of inspiration. It stands the test of time so well, and 'All Apologies' is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, I think."bigstorystage.ap.org/article/kurt-cobain-remembered-20-years-after-his-death

Arcade Fire's third single from Reflektor will be "We Exist". No word on any b-sides. I really wish there were some since they recorded 60 songs for this past album.

so Arcade Fire have the same management BDi had. i've seen actual television commercials promoting Arcade Fire's show in Columbus. i rarely see things like that with bands playing around here.
I have a feeling BDi didn't have much expectation from management going into promoting BE and I have feeling that Liam isn't the easiest person to work with, which probably dampened support from management. when you're really successful and/or making other people lots of money then eccentric and erratic behavior is tolerated just like at any regular job but not when you're moderately successful, and saying moderately successful is being very nice.
seriously, the two BDi album cycles were absolute disasters....it almost seems made up.
also, i'm really hoping to go to the Arcade Fire show in Columbus....my friend who actually kinda likes Arcade Fire is being a pussy about going and I don't wanna go alone. and i'm not dressing up if i do go, I dunno if that's still going on but i'm not dressing up...
Thanks.

Thanks. Arcade Fire is always a "can't miss show". I've been lucky to catch them several times on tour, from their very humble start to their arena level success. I've seen them come full circle and are still in peak form.
