So we all know that the song is a stab at Noel, but that one line that goes something like "did you shoot your gun". Do ye think its a direct reference to If I Had a Gun? Thoughts? (sorry if this has been bright up already).

and the sun is about the newspaper .....probably Lyrics at the standard of little james.. "little noel, were getting old" would have fit perfectly... Theyre very straight-forward.. reminds me of talk tonight, simple because its a direct song about the other brother. The part about the sum, i assumed he was saying he was the sun, as noel would shoot a hole into the sun... The part where he says he will call noel is probably a moment of weakness where he felt he needed noel.. maybe he even did call noel, who knows?

Yep, maybe the line where he says something like"you say your free" could be referencing Noel opening his gigs with (It's Good) To Be Free and generally saying how much happier he is not working with Liam

I had Don't Brother Me on and my father who is in his mid 60's and grew up listening to the classic rock n' roll listened for a minute and said sounds like Dylan, mind you he has no idea who Beady Eye or Liam are.

The people who moan about the outro mustn't like music.

Anyone else think the outro on dbe is in an amorphous androgynous style?maybe a dig at Noel for not having the balls to release the AA stuff? we all know this song could be about Noel and could be aimed at him lyricly! This track has split opinions, with alot of people on here moaning about the outro on this and soul love. so maybe Noel was right not to release the AA album??with tracks pushing 8,9,and 10 mins long i don't think it would have an all round appeal to alot of people. i really like the more experimental vibe and was hoping for more weirdness on BE!but with tracks like face the crowd i was a bit let down....i'm skipping that track already!!!but judging from what i've read so far the album has something on it to keep alot of people happy,i like the way it has split opinions(i like shine a light most hate it!) Just to clarify: Liam has admitted it is about his brothers, both Noel and Paul, although I think it is more about Noel.
It is a beautiful tune, at first I thought the outro was too long, and that it should have been a B-side, but it got stuck in my head the whole day, and it has grown on me. I think it's a good song I wonder how it'll sound live.

I actually like the dissonance of that note. It reminds me of Guess God Thinks I'm Abel which has some similar dissonance with the backing vocals. What ruins the song for me is the "Give peace a chance" line... Seconded on the "give peace a chance." I still don't like the sound of that melody. Just sounds off to me.. Reminds me of this People were saying 'give peace a chance' before Lennon. They were probably saying it plenty in 1939. And as for its use in the song its not really linked to anything else than the subject he's talking about. That's why I don't mind it anyway.

Oh, I'm sure they were. But the phrase is NOW synonymous with Lennon and that is where Liam got it from we all know. His Lennon homages have reached a wearying level. People had also said "You talking to me?" before De Niro...but I still think of him when I hear those words and always will now

If it's about a pic of him and Angus in the Sun then that's pretty low. Trying to win points over his fucking niece.

Can't get the melody out of my head, it's brilliant.
I've figured out all the chords now as well if anyone wants them?

I love the bass, it's one of the best bits in the whole album, and that's a big compliment. The melody is good, typical Liam, and the outro is magnificent. Plus, I really like the part around 2:00 where it gets a small break and then gets back to Liam.

The song itself sounds too much like Won't Let You Down, but the outro is epic. I hope the keep it for the live shows.

Even if there are similarities, undoubtedly there are, Don't Brother me is far superior. Besides,Noel does the same thing.
