And I also respectfully disagree with the Miles Kane comments. I like his second album better than his first.

R U Mine and Do I Wanna Know are the exact same fucking song. Why are they both on the album? That's like having AGN and MOS together....
Arctic Monkey's are beginning to be shit at picking singles, too.
Just listened to Suck It And See for the first time in ages. Almost turned it off - the beginning is so fucking poor (Chair and Brick are horrid songs, and both are singles/teasers, too. WTF?). But the album gets a lot better as it goes on.
Favorite Worst Nightmare is my favorite album by them - their songwriting back then actually was actually contextualized. She's Thunderstorm? What the fuck does that even mean? Bollocks.
It took me awhile to appreciate Humbug, too, but I finally got it. I haven't fully gotten it with Suck It And See, and by the looks of the first two singles, AM doesn't bode well as an instant favorite for me, either.

I have to be on an Oasis forum talk up everything they like it was brilliance. They made some shit music too. They ain't perfect. But Tom is Liam's fucking Twin, silly boy. Yeah, I mean they both prance around the stage in feathered jackets and skin tight jeans. Now then Mardy Bum, lighten yourself up a bit. Meow. I'm so lighten up I'm floating.

DSDCIMYC is a cracker of a tune. Why does every song have to fucking mean something? She's Thunderstorms is a great song. Their new songs have been their best singles since Crying Lighting and bode well for their new album. Well I'm sure The Enemy have a new album out soon you might enjoy.

I{/quote] Do the two songs have some similarities? Yes but they are by no means the same song. R U Mine is a balls out rocker while Do I Wanna Know? never kicks in. Both have those falsetto parts but they are no where as similar as AGN or MOS which are far inferior songs. I do agree with you that FWN is their best album though.

So no, they're not shit at picking singles. 3) She's Thunderstorms...okay, so you know how there are certain girls who are absolutely alluring without making an effort? The girl in the song is one of those: "She's thunderstorms lying on her front up against the wall." Meaning she's fantastic without doing much of anything at all. 4) Aren't you American? Why are you saying bollocks?

I only got into the Arctic Monkeys when Suck It and See was released. Didn't care for them before then, and then I heard a few tunes from that album. The more lush tones of that album drew me in (Alex Turner's voice on that album is just that - lush) so I inevitably gave their back catalogue a proper chance. Proper hooked on them now, and judging by R U Mine and Do I Wanna Know, the new album is going to be mega, so I'm approaching this new album as a new fan so to speak.
I'm really unimpressed by the lack of quality big big British bands these days. I love Coldplay but their last album was a major disappointment, so it's for Arctic Monkeys to carry the flag personally. Until the Monkeys sell out and do a duet with Rihanna, I'm fairly sure they'll continue to do so for a long time.

I do love Suck It And See from All My Own Stunts onwards, though. Treacle is good too. I love the darker, more mysterious aspects of them now - some songs of SIAS would nestle very nicely on FWN.
"Called up to listen to the voice of reason, and got the answer machine", brilliant. Top tune, too, Reckless Serenade is.
I still loathe Brick and Chair, though. But i was initially too harsh on the album, as i was with Humbug - which Im now actually very impressed with.
And while I'm on the subject - Dangerous Animals is their worst song by far - it's almost unlistenable.

True, the last Coldplay album wasn't that good but it did feature some unbelievable tunes like Hurts Like Heaven, Charlie Brown, Major Minus and Us Against The World. I'd put Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown up with some of the best tunes of 2011.

I really really enjoy those tunes, some of their best which doesn't worry me that their quality has declined. I loved that Moving To Mars b-side also, really Bowie-esque. One thing Coldplay need to do is unleash Jonny Buckland. I think there's a really talented guitarist there and some of Coldplay's best tunes are when he's all over it. Back to Arctic Monkeys (kind of) does anyone know if there's going to be a new Last Shadow Puppets album?

Reminds me of that time they had 17 tracks in the top 200 UK singles chart. Still see Humbug seems to be the least favored album, which is strange really because its maybe their best album overall, just takes a bit of getting into but when it hits its EPIC, and the b-sides from that era are just fantastic also. Just doesn't get the love it deserves from the general public which is a real shame. Also noticed how the news is sort of tucked away in that article like its no big deal, headlines all about Mumford's and stones

Do really like Arctic Monkeys, Humbug is my favourite album, think each album got better until this point, but really can't listen to SIAS, just can't get into it as an album. The lyrics ar appalling on most of the songs, and I'm sure I read that they admitted taking the piss with some of the lyrics.
For example, the music for Library Pictures is ace, but the lyrics really let it down.
I know all lyrics don't need to mean anything, but for a full album is too much.
Liking what I've heard so far from AM, so looking forward to it, and hopefully a return to form from my point of view.

Appalling lyrics??
Yea some tunes like brick by brick aint great, but so what its a fun song. But to say the rest is appalling is rather silly. It some of alex's best work yet.

Something. Will did a great job singing "The Goldrush" and the live version of "Death Will Never Conquer".

The good thing about music is that everyting is subjective. I'm gald people can enjoy SIAS, but for me it is a long way off the standards of their first three albums. Anyway, bagged tickets for Manchester Arena, bring it on.

I'm watching their full performance from Glastonbury.
They may very well be the best live band around at the moment, they seriously destroyed Glastonbury. Amazing guitar playing.
[They need to drop Brick from the setlist though. Horrible song]
Saw them in 2009, would love to see them again - they're only getting better.

I love brick by brick, think its a brilliant tune and dont understand the hate for it, sure the lyrics are simple but the guitar work more than makes up for it, just love it when that solo comes in. Glad they keep playing it, but must say i do prefer "library pictures" though tbh, would pick that over brick by brick.
And "dont sit down" is pure class also, another tune I see a lot of negative comments about but for me its got to be the best track on the album, only by a whisker though because every track is great on SIAS, imo
When it comes to picking setlists though, the arctic's could actually do a lucky dip policy and play any track from any album and it would still be great. There are certain songs in their back catalog that just never get played, ever. And some/most of those tracks are absolutely brilliant also.
