I thought the Monkeys at Glasto was a great gig, even though Turner annoys me sometimes he's quite a good frontman now and all the songs sounded great live. It was such a relief when they did a couple of songs acoustic with strings because up until that point every song had sounded the same imo and even though they played a rocking set, it just got dull after a while, every song being a guitar driven rocker with Turner singing each song in the same way through a thick Sheffield accent. All the lads need to do to become a really great band now is vary it up imo. Hahahah Oasis fan saying a Frontman sings in the same accent with guitar driven rock . Cop on, the same insults you throw at AM's could be thrown at Oasis. |

But for you to say that the Arctic Monkeys are better than Oasis would be like me saying Oasis were better than The Beatles, and THAT would be complete tosh The Beatles are the greatest band, we agree on that. Oasis and AM released two of the most important debut albums ever and were the bands of their generation. I love Oasis but after Be Here Now it was rubbish. The Monkeys still release and confound many with what they will do next. Never got that with Oasis. Listen we won't agree on it. But The Stone Rose piss over both bands. |

Liam has delivered lots of different vocals in his time, from belting it out like a Sex Pistols song in Headshrinker to more tender vocals like I'm Outta' Time and vocals conveying a sense of desperation like on Don't Go Away. Then of course you have Champagne Supernova, where Liam's vocal stars off quite tender and ends up euphoric as the song grows - yes, a song can grow, it doesn't always have to be guitar-driven rock from the off like the Arctic Monkeys. You don't get this with Turner. And, yes, I am an Oasis fan on an Oasis forum, what are you? Begs the question as to what you're doing on here really... |

So I think it's a bit harsh to say they pissed on them , at least. oasis got there , the roses for all there legal issues and what not. Didd not so we don't know what they would have done ,to be fair ..IMO |

Watched the Glasto gig but still not a fan of the band. Not knocking them they are headlining Glasto so must be doing something right but not my cup of tea.

I liked the takes on Cornerstone and Mardy Bum but A Certain Romance plus the Teddy Picker then breaking into Crying Lighting was sweet. Was it Mardy Bum? it was a nice nod and Soul love from David Bowie nod was another Highlight. Guy Garvey did a nice job with the strings. Turner combing that quiff Elvis style. Very nice to get the crowd to sing Happy Birthday to his mum. |

Alex is a genius,he's a great lyricist,I don't think he'll never reach Noel's peaks (actually nobody will do that for me),cos is really difficult to write songs like Live forever or DLBIA,but he's surely the best songwriter of his generation |
