Are you saying Beady Eye albums are better then Arctic Monkeys?  Don't be silly son, You probably have a hard on for Liam but even he hasn't written anything close to Alex Turner. Yes I prefer BE to two of the four Arctic Monkeys albums. Was unaware that I had to justify that opinion. No but it sucks. You know it does. |

I can't even sit through a full Arctic Monkeys album tbh, Alex Turner's voice doesn't do it for me and the songs get a bit samey after a while for me but individually, they have some brilliant songs. BE doesn't have the highs that Arctic Monkeys albums have but it flows nicely as an album so I'd say I prefer it to most of the Monkey's albums Nothing Samey about Arctic Monkeys albums mate. You can throw that Oasis but Monkeys change it up. Best British band since the Stone Roses are the Monkeys. Better than Oasis?  |

The Monkeys are the best British band since Oasis. Disagree...I'd have to say Kasabian is light years better. hard to say 'better', AM has the technicality of songwriting and delivery down pat but Kasabian's got the vibe for me Alex Turner has got a beautiful voice, is a whiz with lyrics and melody, and it's impressive how the band's style changes and matures with every album. can't wait to see where the new one takes them, very promising start so far with RU Mine. But Kasabian is just plain fun to me, before I die I wanna go to one of their gigs  |

A group of Oasis Wannabe's who front two guys so want to be the new Gallagher's but come of like a pair of muppets. A few good tunes but Arctic Monkeys piss over that Geezer Rock that's become a blight on British music scene since the mid 90's. Acting dumb isn't cool. |

Don't think that the Monkeys,The Smiths or the Roses blow away Oasis,you can say that they're are bettet (and apart maybe for The Smiths I don't think so)but not far better,not a lot of bands have Definitely maybe and WTSMG (and some good albums like BHN,SOTSOG,DOYS or DBTT)in their catalogue,not a lot of bands have those b-sides,not a lot of bands have a songwriter like Noel Gallagher  |

Do we have to do the whole "are they better than _______?" debate? I love Arctic Monkeys, one of my favorite bands of all-time if not my absolute favorite. But I'd rather just let it be as far as whether they're better than so-and-so. This shit mostly just causes hostility and resentment.
That was a very hippie-ish post, but...ehhh whatever.

I do like the last 2 songs I've heard, because they're more mature. Maybe I'll like them more now that they don't sound like teenagers. Personally, I don't think it's hard to say better. Kasabian > Arctic Monkeys. |

Smiths and Stone Roses are better, and I love Oasis. Noel Gallagher's solo debut is the best thing he's put out in years, and I'm sorry, but BE might have some ok tunes, but if we're bringing Lennon into the argument, we have a problem. I'm not the biggest fan of AM, but I can without a doubt say they are better than BE. |

I've had the pleasure of seeing them twice (wish it could be more often!). How was the show? Which is your favorite album? I'm not trying to dog on AM either, I just think when people are calling them the best british band since Oasis, that's a bit of an overstep for me. Because there are British bands I like a whole lot more. |

I find Arctic Monkeys albums more enjoyable, however Kasabian have better individual songs. Kasabian can cook up some excellent rock n roll. Yeah like Shoot the Runner(that breakdown and solo are the best of Kasabian music so far) But I can't listen to their albums without skipping some tracks Empire dires after STR(I would like it more if Serge sang it more confty for his voice), Selftitled I can't get it besides the singles, WPRLA is good but gets weird in the middle(Thick as Thieves is a tune)... oh and the last one has too many Serge sung songs. While arctic monkeys their quality has been a bit more regular(as I can listen to all the albums without skipping tracks). |
