So they were planning on releasing the track to us in parts, but it was played early by the American radio station. Yet they still go with the unlocking the parts thing on the website.
They do nothing to quash any rumours spread by the NME or radio DJ's and just let this all build until it implodes on Zane Lowe when a bunch of expectant fans find out the information was bollocks.
It seems the management have made a right mess of this.

On the contrary they've managed to hype it up further.
I mean Beady Eye is trending on twitter right now....BEADY EYE!

I don't understand how they can make a mess of it yet again. DGSS was a disaster promoting wise. now this, i don't know who to blame but theyve had over a week since Flick got played to swap singles, make an announcement etc. Yet they seem to just let rumours and lies generate? poor.

If I were BDI, I would release the single now on their website.
All fans are disappointed with this false announcement. So releasing the single now, would be a great way to thank all the fans for their support.

I reckon they've got some sort of agreement that Zane will get the first play, so i dont think they'll do that

They should release everything online on their website, or do a live premier session on youtube, that would have been awesome and trendy!

A Second Bite of the Apple is a second single, right? Then, at least give us the first single name and the release date! Not the first playing date.

So why the heck don't they simply release it on their website ??!! At least they wouldn't risk f**king up their marketing & promotion plan.

I can kind of understand how this has happened.
It's very easy to become frustrated at the lack of information, announcements, new single etc. but outside of this forum a lot of people probably had no idea Beady Eye had even released a new song until Zane Lowe played it earlier
This whole marketing scheme was probably over-ambitious to begin with but actually could have been relatively successful had FOTF not leaked long before tonight.
With all the press build up towards the 15th (including Zane Lowe, NME etc.) and the website stems (and the fact that they conveniently reaching completion tonight), I can't see how FOTF was ever going to be JUST an album track. Why tantalise fans and gradually release sections of your song when you have no intention of releasing it commercially?
The leak clearly wasn't planned, authorised etc. but by this point the website had already been designed and the marketing strategy was already in place so instead of leaving the website on the 'recording' page, they obviously decided to roll it out anyway in the hope of attracting people from outside the immediate fanbase. Does make me think that the stems were always going to be unveiled in perfect time for this evening however, and that posting on Facebook/Twitter had absolutely nothing to do with the speed in which that meter filled.
The single was obviously abandoned and SBOTA is assumed to take its place on the 29th. This explains the sudden rush to film a second video when they have already reportedly filmed a first.
Shame really, probably had real potential to get people interested. Guess the lesson is to encrypt the files you're sending out to the radio stations or simply send the digital copies a couple of hours before first play.
As for the tour dates/artwork, fuck knows.

Yea, that's on management. I wouldn't necessarily blame the band yet, just because none us know what management told them. If they were told not to dispell anything because there were already plans in the works. I think much of this, not all, is out of Beady Eye's hands.

I would completely agree. Phenomenal post. The band and their management were caught flat footed and had no opportunity to recover. Unlucky break for them.

I agree 100% about the music the leak messed it up thats not their fault and must be frustrating for them. but beady eye tweeted at 6.45 on Friday tour date announcement on Monday. I know your saying fuck knows as we all don't know but why say they will make that announcement then fail to deliver. It can't be cos of the leak as that was nearly a week prior to that announcement. Like I said bonkers said it would be Tuesday so if that turns out to be true it's not circumstance but out right lying.. If they don't announce at all I can't see why those gigs would've been booked months ago

Could be coming from 9pm onwards, seeing as that's when the show is ending and probably when they'd be announced on their website. If not, then the management team could be in need of a serious reshuffle if they hope to turn this shitheap around before the 29th.
