I do agree with u doggyboy, but seriously...gimme shelter moment. That is a shocking describtion of FOTF. Gimme shelter has one of the most strong choruses ever. FOTF doesn't even have one. It's a good song, but cmon Andy..I'm glad I heard FOTF BEFORE I read this describtion. My expectations would've been quite different. Maybe the "sounds of Gem's friends jaws dropping" had nothing to do with the music being made but that Andy Bell comment on FOTF.

No I can't imagine arcade fire or Radiohead describing an album this way and nor do I wan't to, For the life of me I can never understand why so called oasis/beady eye/Liam/Noel fans are on a fan forum comparing them to bands that are polar opposites. Noel, Liam & co have been this way in interviews from the outset...it's how they are, why would you want them to start acting different?....I bet there are are Radiohead fans on forums right now discussing how they want Thom to clip a few paps, take the piss out of other bands & fall out of clubs hammered....of course there fucking isn't because that's not them, that's not how they carry themselves. The boys have been around now what 20 years? With pretty much the same attitude & interview technique and all of a sudden you want them to conduct themselves in an unnatural manner to become more accessible to the press, fashionistas & musical snobs?....with Liam what you see is what you get and that is what the majority of fans love. If for some reason after 20 years you still haven't grasped the above then please delete your account and bugger off to some other bands forum & let us fans enjoy & discuss our favourite artists. Well said man. , and welcome back just read your return post ..been along time but I remember ( as fucked up as I was sometimes back then you always had good insights man , good to see you ) And your spot on here as well ....you don't change what got you to the dance use Any cliche you like , but if that attitude, swagger , style got you this far , they would be foolish to change now . And if they did all the fans would be like WTF? No win situation ya know We Welcome back doggboy10 am back recently myself after a smaller break good to see old names man I remember the name kalas, some very entertaining posts if memory serves me right? Lol & it's good to be back amongst it during an exciting run upto the new album, I never take anyone's post personally & never intend any malice with my retorts but some of the negative views & digs people level at Liam Noel & co on here really do baffle me?, the trolls I can live with...ignore them & move one but when so called "fans" compare them with Radiohead & wish they were more like an Arcade Fire it really does irk me (I'm a fan of both bands mentioned by the way). To be honest in this day and age of musical shitness, corporate & manufactured robots willing to sell themselves it's refreshing to have someone as brutally honest as the gallaghers. The same can be said of Yorke, Albarn etc, completely different characters but they are true to themselves & don't change or bow down to appeal to a certain demographic or fit in to a specific pigeon hole.....in 1 word "REAL"

LIB as you remember him is fond of reminding me man in pm s , lol Alot of it was fun alot coke fueled But like you my love for Oasis was first and foremost and never joked about the music ....your spot on and I like those bands as well ... Those negative comments baffle me as well apparently when we were both off the radar there was alot of Liam or Noel bashing even teams Good time for a sabbatical it was .. Your 100 percent right comparing to radio head is app,se and oranges Mate ,, and the trolls ? You'll see them daily tryin to be clever hoping to get a rise or just bash any comment to perceive themselves as witty. When directed at me these days as some do I simply tap "like " on the post and move. Not the kalas I was still rant a bit when needed like yesterday but your right I never take it personal anymore much rather tap "like" and let them post to cyber land ill read laugh move ..good to have you back doggboy10. Cheers

Flick of the Finger-- about Creation and The Fall (the Event, not the band) and that. Soul Love-- about Adam and Eve carryin' on and that. Face the Crowd-- also about Adam and Eve carryin' on and that, just in a different manner. Consequences and such. Second Bite of the Apple-- about Eve fuckin' up again and suchlike. maybe trangressive towards Adam and dhat. Soon Come Tomorrow-- about the plight of the First Man and Woman coming to grips with everyday, routine life after the result of their (our) Fall. Iz Rite-- about Baptism of our First Couple isn't it? or Matrimony somewhere down the line I'm Just Saying-- about Adam remonstrating of his wife and relaying all her subsequent transgression after that Major First One Don't Brother Me-- about Cain and shit. Shine a Light-- about Cain finally seeing the light of Consequence&Repentence after the murder of his brother Ballroom Figured-- about Salome and her finally dying in a way in the second half life that is way inferior to that of Mary Magdalene's second half. Start Anew-- CHRIST'S COMING AND CHRIST'S GOING AND CHRIST'S COMING BACK... Interesting reading, very biblical and connected to DOYS. I wouldn´t mind the band making this biblical concept album, actually I´d be surprised if they did a concept album for the very first time.

These descriptions seriously make me cringe. Why can't you just talk about the arrangement of the song or how it came about? Why do you have to talk like a used car salesman tripping on acid to big them up? Leave the promotion to your marketing people and show some artistic integrity and modesty. Jeez, can you imagine Arcade Fire or Radiohead describing their songs in such cocky juvenile manners? I would understand if they were still in their 20s but that whole "this is rock and roll" justification is wearing thin tbh. I definitely don't get a Gimme Shelter feel off of FOTF. It reminds me of One Way Glass by Manfred Mann. Good tune though. Can't wait to hear more. Ooh big boy showing his obscure musical references!! You may proceed, you've passed this section of the exam process!! Neophyte-- you are no more.

Don't worry baby, the next time someone bring up Manfred Mann I will keep my crap in check; BUT in the meantime, in that next 30 years or so, oh my, I will definitely keep blowing off that steam.

Can't wait to hear their cover versions of "Don't Bother Me" and "Shine a Light." It says Don't *Brother* Me Ah, sorry - good point. Now it's much more interesting.

These descriptions by the band have turned me off... Andy´s feelings towards FOTF made me feel it was way too far to call it a Gimme Shelter. FOTF is a great tune, really a good one but I thought it might be a little peace of the cake and now it seems it´s one of the strong cards of BE. Maybe I´m speaking my mind to fast... I should wait.

Reading between the lines:
Flick Of The Finger
Liam: “We had to go first with it.” = Best track on the album
Andy: “To me, it’s a Gimme Shelter moment.” = Best thing we've done
Soul Love
Liam: “This started as a Songbird-y thing, but I changed it the night before we recorded it.” = For Anyone + studio effects
Face The Crowd
Liam: “Face The Crowd is just f*cking…” = Meaning of Soul Part II
Gem: “…a banger.” = Ain't Got Nothin Part II
Second Bite Of The Apple
Liam: “This is the one Sitek changed the most… There’s a lot more magic on this album.” = Sitek saved this track
Soon Come Tomorrow
Andy: “One of my tunes, a bit of a quieter, slower thing.” = dull
Liam: “Great tune. Hendrix-y.” = Wah guitar noodling
Iz Rite
Liam: “The Beatles on E.” = A cross between To Be Where's The Life Part and A Bell Will Ring
I’m Just Saying
Andy: “Anyone longing for a bit of Morning Glory-era Oasis, this is for them.” = Anyone longing for a bit of Heathen Chemistry-era Oasis, this is for them.
Don’t Brother Me
Liam: “It’s a beautiful f*cking song and I like the title. I didn’t want to change it.” = Guess God Thinks I'm Able Part II
Shine A Light
Andy: “The intro to this we called ‘the Scarface bit’: like an old black-and-white movie. Very dramatic.” = We sampled old vinyl!
Ballroom Figured
Liam: “It’s a bit Marley to me: Redemption Song. Beautiful.” = Simple acoustic guitar track
Start Anew
Andy: “My favourite vocal on the album. It’s an epic: starts off as an acoustic tune then ends up like Neil Young in Boca Juniors’ stadium, in 35C heat, with fireworks going off.” = Wigwam Part II
