How do you know that? Unless you have heard the single which I'm pretty sure you haven't. No offense but you seem to be one of those who is determined to be down on them whatever they do. What are you talking about. I love them. I just want a great lead single to get people talking. A minute brass intro... Some vocals.... And a minute long speech isn't going to get people talking. We need a great tune - which we all know will be on the album - I'm just scared that they're not gonna give us that on Monday But people are talking about it! Its had a lot of positivity. I'd say that is pretty good for a teaser. You might expect the single to be more radio friendly so as long as its good I can't see how that won't push the buzz to a bigger level.

Well hopefully we'll get said single on Monday.
If Zane plays nothing; or FOTF on Monday then something is wrong.

My moderate disappointment in promotion isn't contingent upon my suppressed eagerness at all!!! But still, ARRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!"

But we've not heard of any other song and its close to Monday... We've been unlocking stems for FOTF.... And then we unlock "artwork" for it. All the signs point to it being the main promo song. Everything other than the fact that BDI have given us the song to listen to but not called it a single themselves or given us any information on when we can buy it. Zane Lowe said just a couple days ago that he was going to debut a BDI song that wasn't Flick of the Finger on Monday. If Flick of the Finger were a single we'd know about it by now.

Pipe down. Neither is your lack of perspective-- which some may have construed as also a lack of maturity, but of course every one is allowed the benefit of the doubt here.

Huh? With so little talk of any other songs; and the fact we still haven't unlocked all the stems and artwork for Flick Of The Finger just two days before the day we're meant to hear a song ... It's hardly a lack of perspective in assuming we may not get a new song at all.
Of course someone has now said That Zane Lowe himself said he'll be suing a track that isn't FOTF ; so that's fine.

What would they gain by playing a song on Monday which has been played already around the world, officially on the BE sound cloud, officially on BE YT.. It's been played on lots of radio stations including by Zane Lowe. Then they give us all the stems etc to download, then done art work etc
That's all just a way to hype that 1 album track a clever way of giving away a free download basically
Then come Monday they will play the first single.

Are people who didn't listen to Beady Eye before listening to it? I just don't see what you mean by a "buzz"

FOTF is to BE as BTL is to DGSS.
SBOTA is to BE as TR is to DGSS.
Simple.
End.

Why is this shocking to people? No one knows who Beady are and no one cares outside of England, bar Argentina. Liam is considered a joke by most people and while the song is definitely a change in direction for him its nothing groundbreaking. Be content that Beady Eye didn't release something as derivative as the Beat Goes On as a lead single.
Views, album sales, and the like mean nothing. If an album is truly good people will remember it and it will be in the canons of great work 50 years from now.

I don't think any one would dream FOTF is gonna appeal or convert any casuals what so ever.
I would assume their actual single will be more appealing to the wider audience like singles are supposed to do

Why are people trying to defend FOTF as if its magically going to get better within the context of the album?
It's the FIRST track track of the record, context doesn't apply to it. It's not a concept album. What you've heard is all the song is and nothing more.

We know the song is what it is, that's why they've chose that song as the first glimpse of the album. I would guess they are just trying to say this isn't 'DGSS' we've moved direction. Look Cool production, ohhhh no chorus, etc etc They've purposefully used a very different track to show 'all look at us being all different this album'.. Then the lead single will show .., but they can still do 'a banger'

Agreed ...that is the one major change in the forum I have seen ,, not saying good or bad ...but alot more technical breaking down of tunes ..to me it's rock and roll take it song at a time and not worry about who's producing or what's to follow , oasis were never a concept band and I'm sure bdi isn't writing songs that are gonna be lead ins to the next track But hey that's my take anyways

So don't mistake me and thinking I'm saying its going to make massive waves but for a band of their following I'd say its done pretty good so far and much better than last time around especially in a social network sense. I know you would like it to be terrible because it doesn't have a chorus or whatever but I think its been a good opening.

Official single or not, the tune is dead cool and gives us a great peak into what Beady Eye and Dave Sitek have cooked up. Most of the feedback on this forum has been very pro FOTF compared to the bewilderment of when BTL came out. It's a better "buzz" this time around in my opinion. Onwards!

Yea, I think I've been the main person saying it doesn't need a chours...if you look at my previous posts. I don't think it's terrible so please don't see everything as black and white. For me it's an average track that couple good when other songs around it, but that's it. But at the point I was making, I wouldn't qualify what you just said as a "buzz". Just you and your friends liking what you're hearing.

^idk, did I say it was terrible because it needed a chorus? Stop putting words in my mouth, I'll stop putting words in yours? Does that sounds good?
