chuffed that they have uploaded 'Flick Of The Finger' to their official soundcloud page aswell. Thanks, now it's complete without the radio announcer and this might be better quality as well. Definitely sounds better quality to me and has the voice at the start. Sounds like an album opener to me

I really think that this tune will fit perfectly into a themed album, which by the sound of things is exactly what were getting. You can hear the outro ready to go bonkers and straight into the next song or interlude. The whole intrigue is very enjoyable, think we're going to enjoy the new direction.

Listened to it again on the soundcloud page. Better quality, but I still utterly hate how flat the drums sound. And it still sounds like 45 seconds worth of melody stretched out across near four minutes with a random quote at the end. I love the horns, but after the first minute it gets old for me. Decent song, but I don't see anything special about it. I'd be happy if we hear the album and this turns out to be one of the of the bottom tracks.

I likely enjoy this song more than you, but yes, if it is a top 3 song or something, we are in some trouble. If it is near the bottom, we are in for something good. Remember, Bring the Light was a rough start but ended up being a bottom song from that album. And this song to me is far superior to Bring the Light.

I never will nor have been a big fan of Bring the Light, it was also an average tune. In terms of level of the songwriting, I actually think Bring the Light is a better song. However, what gives Flick of the Finger an edge is that it is just plain produced better. And even then, I don't think it's a big edge.

I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up, but I think it's likely that Flick Of The Finger is the opening track to the record, and then leads directly into Kill Switch. FOTF ends with the "and with the flick of the finger, tear a million of you to pieces" quotation, and then the very next song, the kill switch gets flicked. If these songs aren't tracks 1 and 2, it seems likely that they are at least back to back.

There we go then. Confirmed it isn't the first single. Still can't get enough of this song, the brass man, the brass!

just really hopin this isn't the lead single so we get more new material next week. I cant see it being the lead single now as Zane Lowe has the exclusive on the 15th according to NME. Beady Eye wouldn't have uploaded it to soundcloud now if it is, no way.
Looks like their new management company have got things right, with the website etc and sound snippets. It wouldn't surprise me if they put the video up straight after the first play on radio 1.
And it also wouldn't surprise me if they deliberately gave out 'FOTF' to get all the hype going, like it is (especially on here) for the first play of the lead single.

The last time I was blown away by brass on a song was when listening to Simon and Garfunkel's Keep The Customer Satisfied.

This already qualifies as the most intriguing marketing campaign for a Gallagher-related album, and they have barely even scratched the surface it seems.

If FoTF isn't the first single, but just an album track (or even better, a b-side), I'm properly excited. It sounds promising, the production is really good, but as a song (melody-wise) it does nothing to me. There are some hooks in the song that I like, and I like the idea, but the melody is very uninspiring.
Still, it gets me very exciting for what is to come. If that was the purpose of "leaking" this track, than they succeeded. If this is going to be a single, or even one of the top songs of the album, I'd be dissapointed.
