I would rather wait a couple more months (not realistic) and have something that would turn peoples heads towards the band. We have already waited two years and two months so a little longer shouldn't hurt. Beady Eye should rather try make a 10/10 album with the risk of failing than settling for average that would take them nowhere. |

I'm starting to become a bit worried with the starting and stopping. That's not uncommon for a band to do so. And you know why "The Beat Goes On" sucks so bad, because there are people out there who keep telling me it sucks balls to all the amazing songs on Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, which is a record I have yet find fault in!! Funny thing is if 'The Beat Goes On' was written by Noel certain people's opinion of it would be very different. I have no doubt about that.
Personally I think it's a good song and it's up there among Andy's best, i.e 'Turn Up The Sun', 'Four Letter Word' and 'Keep The Dream Alive' and I think he has it in him to produce an epic song and hopefully that song will turn up on the new record.

It'd be near a bottom of the barrel b-side. If on an Oasis record, it would be a b-side. It's a banal ballad that's middle of the pack on a basically average album. A poor song is a poor song no matter who writes it. The fact that it has to be excused as, if person A had written this song instead of B, automatically says something about the quality of the song. It usually means the song isn't good enough to stand on its own. If the Beat Goes On was a good enough song, that discussion wouldn't come up. It would stand on its own as a good song. |
