Sunday realization:
Yes, i think that song is better than any in the last Noel's album. The way it develops, the way it builds up, the joyful melodies, the solo, the nice emotional out-loud singing at the end.
I honestly hardly ever listen to the NGHFB album. I listen to DGSS album much more, even though it was otherwise when both albums were out. It's not a grower at all.
If sunday morning call had never been released until NGHFB, it would have been the best song in the album.
NG songwriting declined so steeply.
Do you feel the same?

Love the tune every once in a while, it's a bit of a dirge though if you listen to it repeatedly.

i think it's alright but there are better ones. NGHFB would have been miles better, with A Simple game of genius and alone on the rope on it. then i really would of it as a masterpiece, but for me the tracklist is weak. too repetive for me

Not in my opinion, I'd rather listen to What A Life, The Death Of You And Me, Broken Arrow, Wrong Beach and Soldier Boys but I probably prefer Sunday Morning Call to the rest of the stuff on HFB

It goes absolutely nowhere. Even the guitar solo plods alongs.
Noel even thinks its cack...

It sounds like it should be a big and important song but for me it goes nowhere, it is a minute too long in length and is way over produced. Hate the fake choirs. Over kill in my opinion. I barely listen to it anymore. Gas Panic deserved to be a single over this.

Love the stripped down version from mtv but as said I'd have had Gas Panic as a single.
It's almost criminal that Gas Panic is only known to the more devoted Oasis fan.
I've played that song to people who don't like Oasis but who'll admit it's a stunning song.

It's one of those songs I don't listen too that often nowadays, but whenever I do I remember how great it is. Very relaxed, laid-back vibe, pretty much perfect for, you know, a sunday morning The lyrics are great as well - I always loved "When you're lonely and you start to hear the little voices in your head at night // You will only sniff away the tears so you can dance until the morning light". Better than NGHFB? Don't care. I like SMC, I like HFB, end of story.

Gas Panic should have been a single instead of Who Feels Love? and Roll It Over should of been a single instead of Sunday Morning Call but hey It's Oasis without the what ifs it just wouldn't be the same!

I like it,but Everybody's on the run>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SMC This I like Sunday Morning Call even though many people don't. The lyrics are meaningful and the melody is quite beautiful. But I had the opposite reaction to you, nahuel89p--I actually like the HFB album the more I listen to it. There were a few songs that were instant classics to me, like Everybody's On the Run and If I Had A Gun, and then I listened to the album a few more times and saw the songs performed live and that was it. Fan. I agree completely. The darker vibe, the fantastic lyrics, and the haunting melody are a stunning combination.

Good answers. That's all, a little survey.
I still believe that, if we had never ever heard about Sunday Morning Call, and it was instead put in the NGHFB, it would have been the best tune. It would have been an instant boom.
I'll just stick to that idea.

It's seriously miles behind his HFB stuff. It's really not his best work.

The song itself is not at all bad . . . I love to play it on the acoustic . . . but they totally f***ed this one in the studio. It's an awful recording, with little presence and does feel as though it never really gets going for some reason. As far as songwriting quality, it might rival some HFB stuff, but the presentation of the track on SOTSOG is simply terrible.
I wouldn't mind hearing Noel do a simplified, acoustic version of this live though. It would be a beautiful thing i think.
The original post is pretty laughable though. Why does every thread have to be BDI vs. HFB? You should have left that part out man.
