The newest record is not such a first listen album like "Baby 81", where you go through and everything sounds awesome at first, but it definitely grows! and it helped that i have seen them the day i bought the record. the songs are a force live! my bloody valentine is great too! i really suggest you try "2" by Darker my love! the songs are awesome! That's awesome you got to get the new album & see them on the same day. I listened to the new one in the car this morning and the songs I didn't like as much at first are growing on me (it was mostly the lengthier ones that didn't grab my attention immediately). & I still think Fire Walker is a hell of an opening track! Thanks for that recommendation, am listening to the Darker My Love album right now & really liking it!

"Dangerbird Records" and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club mentioned them in their inlays. Thats why i love the BRMC, because there is always a note inside the album "the band likes to listen to those ..." "Firewalker" kicks ass! especially when the bass kicks in! i really love the groove of "Hate the taste"

Gonna have to tell my friends who like BRMC about them. They're great! Glanced at the album recommendations in the new BRMC album and there's some other bands I haven't heard of that I'll have to check out.

I have a few 'goth' friends so I'm always exposed to stuff like that. I also love miserylab, rosetta stone, Bauhause, the cure, killing joke, peter murphey, new order, depeche mode, sisters of mercy etc. Joy Division is always amazing while drunk anyway. This is probably their best song, in low quality and sadly it never got past the demo stage due to Curtis' suicide:
and an absolutely amazing Radiohead cover of that song:

Black Moth Super Rainbow, I completely forgot about them. They're a great electronic, psychedelic, melodic band!

Oh my, I forgot Siouxsie & The Banshees, one of my favorite bands ever, I have a hard time trying to find someone who likes them too. Siouxsie was one of the greatest female singers of all time, powerfull voice and great frontwoman, a lot of bands with female singers owes a lot the them, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Garbage, Elastica... Florence and The Machine sounds and looks like a carbon copy of S&TB.

I like a new dutch band called Navarone, they've made their first albumby themselves, no record company involved and got two singles. The album is called A Darker Shade Of White, its a great album.

Kula Shaker, that made two beautiful albums in the 90s and two good ones since they reformed in 2007, and The Jeevas (Crispian Mill's project in between) and their two album. Most underrated band ever. K is a awesome album, sadly it's looked down upon today but back in the mid 90's these guys were huge. Hey Dude is one of my fav tunes from the Britpop era and Sound of Drum is great too. Thier album Pilgrims Progress was great too. Released, quietly, in 2010. It is really hippy with some great 60's inspired songs. I am (was) a big fan of Gun's & Roses. Both the Illusion albums particularly feel like almost part of me from listening to them in my youth.

..Also I like the Strypes. Is that wrong? Ok there is nothing "new" with their music but I like their passion & the lead guitarist is Ace!
