Kula Shaker, that made two beautiful albums in the 90s and two good ones since they reformed in 2007, and The Jeevas (Crispian Mill's project in between) and their two album. Most underrated band ever. K is a awesome album, sadly it's looked down upon today but back in the mid 90's these guys were huge. Hey Dude is one of my fav tunes from the Britpop era and Sound of Drum is great too.

Does anyone else like Sigur Ros, Django Django or Embers? I love Sigur Ros. Just saw them 2 weeks ago. "Valtari" is THE best album of 2012 for me.

Love Sigur Ros but they need to stop their music been played over Trailer's for films cause its bloody annoying. I like Sigur Ros too--and it was actually because of a film that I discovered them. So there is a plus side. Anyone here like Hurts? I've seen in interviews that they also happen to be big fans of Oasis.

i'm really into stuff like Tom Waits, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Grinderman etc. beside Oasis/Beady Eye/NGHFB i'm not really into britpop. Love Stoner stuff like Kyuss, Queens of the Stone age, Colour Haze, Earth. And i'm really into shoegaze psychedelic stuff like The Black Angels, BRMC, Darker my Love, The Flying Eyes

Most underrated band ever. Was beginning to think I was the only one who liked the Jeevas and Kula Shaker. Good to know I'm not alone!

Apocalyptica do some great stuff outside their Metallica covers. Here's a Bowie cover they teamed up with Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann for (sans penguin biting him):
(google Amundsen as to where the joke is from)

I am constantly reminded of this threat when listening to music and I am constantly forgetting to post in it. Here are a few bands that I listen to that I wouldn't expect many to listen to, keeping it relatively modern cause I could go on rant about obscure 60s shit I listen to.
Powderfinger, one of my favorite bands, great tunes. The Shins You am I The Coral Kulashaker Ocean Colour Scene Beastie Boys (license to ill, what a fuckin record!) Fleet Foxes
Am sure there are more, not in a great state of memory at the moment.
Cheers!

Most underrated band ever. Their first EP and album were rad. Didn't George Harrison dig them? Pretty sure he played on that EP. Also...wasn't the lead singer a secret nazi lover? I remember hearing that in the late 90s.

And i'm really into shoegaze psychedelic stuff like The Black Angels, BRMC, Darker my Love, The Flying Eyes I'm a fan of both The Black Angels and BRMC, haven't explored as much music of the latter two though. What did you think BRMC's latest album? I'm really liking some tracks, others not so much. Got the Black Angels new one a few days ago and am loving it, though. As far as bands I like that I doubt alot of people here are into, I like bands like The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Yuck, Tame Impala, Wilco, Pure X, Foxygen, The Horrors, etc. Also 90s indie like Pavement, and a lot of shoegaze-y stuff from that time.. My Bloody Valentine, anyone?

The newest record is not such a first listen album like "Baby 81", where you go through and everything sounds awesome at first, but it definitely grows! and it helped that i have seen them the day i bought the record. the songs are a force live! my bloody valentine is great too! i really suggest you try "2" by Darker my love! the songs are awesome!

How would you classify composers of musicals? Are they artists? Maybe so . . .
Andrew Lloyd Webber Rodgers and Hammerstein Lerner and Lowe Stephen Swartz
There are more but you get the idea.

I can't imagine anyone not liking Andrew Lloyd Webber's work. He does have some weird work like Jesus Christ Superstar, but on the whole it is pretty awesome. Evita Phantom of the Opera Cats etc.

I quit like Simple Minds, New Gold Dream is very atmospheric and Once Upon a Time is really a great album, and also they have a very experimental album, Real to Real Cacophony that makes Radiohead's Kid A seems like a pop album by Take That or something.

Haircut 100, a great 80's new wave band who behind the cheesy clothing and music videos had a musical genuis in Nick Heyward who decided to drop the band after one album even though they were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time.
