On a Kubrick marathon. Is 2001: A Space Odessey the best film ever made? I don't think I've seen a film with so much depth or subtlety before, although you definitely have to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. I know The Shining is probably my favourite horror/suspense film ever, and A Clockwork Orange is uniquely brilliant. Yet to see Eyes Wide Shut, Full Metal Jacket, or Dr. Strangelove. As much as I like Kubrick's visuals and the unique cinematograhic style of 2001, Clockwork or Full Metal Jacket, my personal favourite will always remain the black and white shot Dr. Strangelove. Peter Sellers is amazing and the dialogue ist quotable from start to finish. Anyone else loves that movie? Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to love the bomb. Great Flick. Yes you will be quoting from it afterward

Mystery Train - Joe Strummer and Steve Buscemi playing cousins might be one of the most hilarious movie moments ever.

Pink Floyd and Alan Parsons on the making of Money. Fascinating to hear how they put together the classic intro sound effects, which would be relatively straightforward today but back then involved the painstaking construction of tape loops of the sampled sounds of paper ripping, cash till chiming, coins tinkling...

The latest Paranormal Activity. I'm a fan of shaky cam "found footage" movies and thought this was one of the better ones of the franchise.
Evolution was on the telly with Mulder & Stiffler. Sci-fi comedy which does exactly as the genre suggests. Switch mind off for 90 mins.
Men in Black 3 was on after it, decent sequel with the usual Will Smith funny parts in it.

I never believed in paranormal activity , but I gotta say I'm a bit mystified , I saw a "John Edwards " type in 90 my grandfather passed in 90. this lady says to me your grandfather is saying look in his eyeglass case Time is running out ....that's all she said .....I found a OTB WINNING TICKET ( my grandfather only get 2 bucks a race it was worth 48 bucks he hit a long shot ) in New York if you did not cash the ticket before the end of year it was considered list and valueless. How she knew that I will never know ...true story

As usual Sonth Park get it spot on: Famous mentalists such as Derren Brown & Keith Barry (well famous here anyway! youtube channel have a lot of stuff up showing how it's done. My guess after a a few minutes with you he picked you your grandfather was dead. How did he know there was something in the eyglass case? He didn't. Just judging by the age he would of been it was probably common for men of that era to carry this around with him and there could of been anything in it. To each their own tho. Has to be to life than homo sapiens

Jackie Brown. Love it, it's probably one of my fav' from Tarantino. Love the Cohen-vibe to it, and the homage to the blaxploitation. Great movie !

Both that and Toy Story 3 were better than the first one imo, and the first one was just about one of the best kids/family films of all time! It's because of that though that I am seriously shitting it for the new one they're bringing out in 2017. Three outstanding films in a row is astonishing, but a forth? I don't think it's ever been heard of before...

I can't see them messing it up I know they've slightly slipped but Pixar don't do bad films

You can't fight in here, this is the war room! "I do not avoid women, Mandrake...but...I do deny them my essence." And then Peter Sellers does that weirdly concerned giggle. There's so many scenes and dialogues in that movie that just crack me up. Take away the brilliant analogies and the fact that the general plot of the movie has remained relevant to this day, it would still be a fantastic film.

Alexandre Abrivard winning a monte for Bazire
Even though I'm a Matthieu Abrivard follower, that ride at the end was brilliant. If he keeps that up, he deserves the Cornulier.

I've never actually seen him in anything, just heard countless impressions - but that is genius. Genuinely hillarious. Have you ever read any of his work? If not, I'd recommend his short story, The Laying On of Hands. He observes things about mundane human behaviour that many of us (maybe not you but me at least) wouldn't notice in a million years, and makes light of it all with that razor-sharp wit of his. A fabulous writer. And also, if you're a bit of a dab hand at impressions, you can even read his stuff in that delightfully morose voice of his to heighten your enjoyment.

About 6 weeks ago I decided to watch all 10 seasons of Friends again, because I've obviously not seen everything. So season 3, episode 9 was the last I watched.
